Ok all you guys out there that use hotmail...
They did some stuff to it and I ran into something I can't figure out how to do anymore.
How do you forward mail... or send mail to several people? I hit the 'forward' button and I used to hit 'to' and select who to forward it to. But now when I hit 'to', it doesn't show the whole address book like it used to.
I tried to email to help, but I get an error message about scripts or something and won't let me get past it.
Well? What am I missing here??

Although you can use Hotmail thru the web, its easiest used with Outlook Express5, 5.5 or 6. I'm assuming you're using a Win9x machine here. If its mac, I'm sure its similar.
Open Outlook Express. Click on Tools, select Accounts... Click the Add tab on the next window, and select Mail. Enter your name as you wish it to appear (Jane Smith) Enter your hotmail address (jsmith@hotmail.com) The next window should auto select HTTP as your server. If not, set it to HTTP. You'll see Hotmail listed as HTTP Server. Enter your user name (email addy again) and password. Click next and Finish.
Now your Hotmail will work just like any other email service, thru the conveinent face of Outlook Express.
You'll be able to adjust synchronization settings, choosing to download all mail or just the headers, once your in the Outlook Express window.
This will not effect your web browser use, you'll still have full access and control thru any web browser, anywhere, anytime.
To answer your question in a web browser context, Once you're in Hotmail (the screen after you've logged in), read a piece of mail. You'll see the "FORWARD" icon located third from the left, just above the body of the text. To send to several people at once, you can add their email addresses in the TO window, or the CC window, or if you dont want them to know who else you're sending to, use the BCC (blind carbon copy) blank. Seperate your email addys by commas, and thats it!
You can also add, delete or group addresses using the "Quick Address List" which you'll need to populate with addresses and groups. The button for this is in the upper right above the body of text, its just hypertext, no buttons.
Hope this filled in the blanks for you, if not, lemme know.

Hey Dana, (and all who may have the same prob with their hotmail)
I use hotmail for a really stupid reason (well I think it is 'cause I know it's because I'm lazy) I use it to connect my two puters at work. What?! We have DSL and it runs to both computers. The Mac and the PC aren't Networked yet (well they are but I haven't told them they are yet) so I e-mail things from one computer to another! Some day I'll let them talk to each other, but until then- I e-mail crap back and forth. (once a week... otherwise I'd be getting on the ball and sharing drives and opening the lines of communication...ANYway)
I didn't even notice they changed anything (the mind wanders at 30-something) so after reading your post I went in to check it out...
To answer your question some more... first "what robb said about the hotmail account" but also... after you the the To: link, a separate window pops up with the address book in it. This window popped up for me then hid behind my main window... Grrr! Little bugger, had to click down on the tab at the bottom of Win2K to get it back on top. Then, you check all the peoples you want to send the FWD to then click Ok. It then drops all those that you clicked into the To: line and you're back in the main window. Hit send and BAM you're in business!
Forwarding your hotmail into Outlook is a pretty good idea if it's your main account though! I have an email.com account for the little rugrats soccer club here and I am just too pooped to manually check it via their website, so I have it set to drop into my stefenie@innercite.com account which I run through Outlook and check pretty much everytime I sit down here. It's great until I respond to the parents of 600 soccer brats with MY OWN e-mail address because I forgot to change the OUTGOING e-mail address.

I use hotmail because I can access it from any computer and didn't have to change it when I moved. Bruce has a seperate email address thru our ISP and uses Outlook.
I used to use Outlook Express quite a while ago. Can you have more than one address in it? I don't want to screw up anything for Bruce.
I did figure out to mail to a bunch of people, go directly to the address book, then select people, then hit the SEND MAIL button. That works for something you write, but I can't figure out the forward thing.
I tried the TO button... it used to pop up showing the address book listing, then you would just select who to send stuff to and off ya go. Now it pops up to edit the quick list, so only 5 names show. How do you make it show the whole address list?
Would this have something to do with Bruce taking of WindowsME and putting 98 back on (we had SOOOOO many problems with ME had to go back to 98)?
Sorry to have stupid questions, but this computer gobbledegook has me bamboozled!!

Dana, Outlook Express will let you create more than one identity. (Think I have 5 on mine) Just go File, Identities, Add Identities. After you've set it up, just hit switch identities to go back and forth. If you need any help knowing which servers are for hotmail, I can reply later tonight as I'm not on my computer right now. Only thing is, it'll leave the original message on hotmail's website, so you'll have to go there once in a while to delete stuff.
