Good morning all. I'm having a major cow with my printer since well, you know how long. I decided not to buy a color laser after all, since I got a good buddy to do my presentations for me.
Now, for a regular type printer, I used to have a 722. It crashed, so I bought a 842, thinking its as good as the first. Thing is, as you all probably know, this thing holds HALF the ink as the 722, at the same price of about $40.US a cartridge.
I'm about to try out that misterinkjet.com refill kits. This is my 3rd & last try with refills, since I've had no luck with universal refill kits.
I was just checking HP, & they have a 1200c, which holds separate color cartriges. cool, no? NO. Cause the resolution is only 300dpi color. I'm just stuck here & real upset. Can someone help?

Felix,Just yesterday I refilled my Deskjet cartridges with the kit I purchased from Pacific Inks that I found on-line. The brand name on the kits that seem to work for me is InkTec.

I agree with Bob, I have one of the 1220 C and it is an awesome printer! I don't use the larger sizes very often but any size that it prints is a great print.

If you need a 36" wide printer, Epson has a 7000 model coming out which is just like the 3000 only bigger.
Knowing Epson, yer gonna get FAST output, it's gonna be quiet and it even prints at a higher resolution.. although seriously, 300 DPI is a tighter resolution than your eyes will pick up on, the difference between printers is the ink droplet size and Epson printers produce the smallest droplets on the market which makes for a nicer print.

I read about the HP 1220 postscript, but my wife gave me that look when I told her the price. I think I'm just gonna get some refills for now... Thanks guys!

We are Epson ONLY! marty won't allow anything else in here! many years ago, she started with an Epson LQ510 dot matrix printer and it was still working great until she went to an Epson 850 (Hospital wanted better quality printing) It is bullet proof, prints all day long, uses up a new ink cartridge every 2 weeks! My old Epson Stylus Color is still chugging along perfectly (Epson's 1st color ink jet)!
We don't use factory cartridges, get them them from a local source at about 1/4 the price when we buy them a dozen at a time! It's not worth the time or effort to use those generic refill kits...especially if you goof and spill it!
You might check with fellow Letterhead Mayo Pardo... he sells refilled cartridges.

wow, glad to see HP finally get with the program on Postscript!
Now if someone would just come out with 11x17 transparencies for inkjets...I'd be set.
Before you buy any printer - see what the ink tanks cost. And, take note of their size.. for example a Canon tank is 1/2 the size of a HP at the same price on some models.
So far, Lexmark seems to be the closest thing to balance, with a cheap price to start, dependable, and ink tanks that cost in proportion to their output.
Although ALL inkjets are ripoffs! I cant believe they can charge that much for ink! A laser is SO much cheaper on a per print basis, if you can handle just black prints.
At least we've gone past the 9pin matrix printers eh? those screaming banshees of continous forms everywhere LOL..

Robb, well.. you could get the POSJet Crystal Clear film that's designed to be used with Epson's 3000 printer. It's for inkjet use and they have an 11x17" size..
I aint sayin it's cheap, but it might work. check it out..
