Hello, dear friends....
If you were wondering where I was, well, my @#$*&!! 4B decided that it has alzheimers or something, & I've been dickering around with it to no avail. I called Gerber, & they wanted $600 to fix it! An '86 model that I bought used- heck, I can probably buy another one for that!!! GRRR.
Anyhoo, OF COURSE I had a golf outing to do for some hoity-toity Pittsburgh corporate types, 22 signs in all, for which I was given less than a week's notice.
After the wonderful time I had in Milwaukee, the last thig I wanted to do was crank out coroplast crap. As it turns out, I hand-lettered the whole job, rather reluctantly at first. In the midst of my crabbiness (yes, folks, even I get bitchy) I realized that I was actually ENJOYING myself.
Everything had a "flow", it was so much more human than dat demon vinyl. And cheap- I had the paint, it really only cost me my time, about 8 hours total.
So I guess you could say I really did go back to basics!
LETTERHEADS ON MARS UPDATE:
I am doing all that I can to prepare a presentation to the Mars Chamber of Commerce. They, in turn, will get the approval of the Mars Boro Council. I'm 99% sure that this will be a happening thing, I just have to wade through some red tape. But I am determined to pull this off, if it's the last thing I do! As God is my witness- oops, wrong movie.
Thanks to everyone at Waukesha- Wiz, for the pink hair-raising ride from the train station, on the freeway dodging urban assault "knaabs", Slewfoot & Barry Q's daughter, for the fast food runs, Mike Meyer for the ride back to the train station, Brian the Brush, Superfrog,& Catherine for the panels, Artie Schilling, Dan Fleming, for everything, Mr. & Mrs. Felix Marcano for being so cool, Dave Draper for being so friendly, AJ for letting me sit in on the "circle of wisdom", and Doc, for saying I could do the big meet in Mars. To Steve-n-Barb, I love yins. To anybody else I forgot, Wasn't it Great? Woo Hoo!
Love- JILL
PS will keep everyone updated about the meet as soon as I know anything.

Hey Jill,
I'm only about an hour from ya (over here in Indiana, PA). Unfortunatley, I missed the Parts-a-rama and it's usual Friday night unveiling of the "Big But Fair" signs on main street (or is that really just someone ripping the LER off the sign?)

Anyway, If you're trying to put a meet together and you need any help (in reality it's more like slave labor with a smart *ss attitude), just gimme a yell.

Keep us posted on when this is going on, I'll RSVP right now.
