I used one of these earlier today. Easily the best portable compound mitre saw I've used out a selection of Hitachi, Electra Beckum and other Makita's Model LS1212
One more thing on an ever expanding shopping list

heh heh... those things are fun Cut great mitre joints, and so smooth! I'd want one too, if I actually had a use for one, more than once every now and then... that's after the scroll saw, band saw, etc etc etc

I have a Rigid 10" compound mitre saw, I bought it to build everything when I moved into my shop, weeding table, paint table, esal and workbench.
I could have rented one but the cost would have been half of what I paid. I have since found lots of uses for it so I do use it more than I thought I would. One thing I use it for is I do a lot of "Name type ryders" for a realty company, they are 6" x either 24" or 30" made from 6mm PVC, I used to order both sizes from my supplier, now I only order the 30", when I cut one off for a 24" I save the left over for paint pallats, epoxy mixing and so on.
