Cisco, I will be honored to meet ya! The Louisianaians have been trying to sabotage the duck soup & make it into gumbo. Bring the salsa, we'll have fire. Maybee Troy will bring a fire hose.
Mark, I think that blackeyed pea salsa is the same thing I tried down in Fairhope AL at LuLu's Sunset Grill. It was great, they called it Lower Alabama Caviar! It was great. I had it with green fried tomatoes and beer to wash it down. Would you please send me the recipe?
Pat, I weally am afwaid I'm quackin' up waiting another whole month for "Duck Soup"

Thank you Mark I can't wait to try it. From the above posts it sounds like we will have to have finger bowls spread around to keep our work clean!

Just my buck two eighty here, but on Milwaukee's South side (when us Polaks ran things) Duck Soup is called czarnina; pronounced char-neena, and is mostly actual DUCK BLOOD with a few raisins & some salt thrown in so ya can choke it down. Ya want my Granma's recipe? Goes good with those szilz sandwiches on wonder bread...szilz is head cheese, made from boiling down a hog's head. Hear it's popular in some parts of Louisianna, too!

Asi es, Bill. Hog Head Cheese ranks right up there with Boudin and Cracklins. Every full service gas station sells it. Now that should bring us right back around to Cisco's post because the cracklins with greens tomatoes translates: Chicharon con Salsa Verde. ------------------ Santo Brocato Promotion Graphics & Letters Youngsville LA.
