Does anybody have this problem and is there a solution?
While using Internet Explorer, sometimes my whole machine will hard crash and lock up. This almost always happens while typing. Usually 15 minutes into some profound, perfectly worded post or reply.
While we're at it, another glitch that's plaqued me several times is in the message window (like the one I'm typing in right now), if I go back to correct some typing, the new text entry wipes out the next character(s) in line instead of just inserting it where I placed the cursor. This doesn't seem to be related to the crash symptom, but it's annoying as hell.
Is it me? My keyboard? My mouse? or do others have either of these same problems. Thanks, Grrrr.

joe ...empty your internet temp file, do this in explorer....1st thing. next empty your history files, then empty the c:\windows\temp. now youve got most of the garbage gone... got to recycle bin and empty it. now you need to defrag the h/d i use norton or fix-it....in norton its called speed disk, when you open it open options, customize, and then move files to front, then start the defrag....this should clean up most of your problems....

Yes, IE crashes on me sometimes, but usually in email, not so much on here. (careful, better not jinx myself!)
I gotta laff about your second thing. The "new copy eating old copy" thing! hahahaaaa Glad to know I'm not the only one this has happened to! That frustration has plagued me for years before Dave finally told me it's because you pushed "insert" by accident (usually instead of delete) ... and if you just push insert again, it'll undo itself. Man ... has that bit of knowledge ever saved alotta cuss words!

I can't help you with the crash problem Joe. I do know the frustration of typing out a witty, novel length post only to lose it. These days I type up my important posts in Notepad and save them. Then I just cut and paste them in.
