I just finished sending file to Postcard Press for printing. With the help of Amy Brown (thanks Amy) I think it will work. One of the images was a bitmap of customers logo and "PP" called me back and asked that it be a vector file. No big deal so I traced it all out. Everything is ok now...I think. Anyway they want is as an eps. file and I had a heck of a time getting corel to export one that would work. The saved eps. file wouldn't even import back into Corel, it just showed a gray box with "Corel eps." in it. The only place it would open was in Photo Paint which would make it a bitmap image. Everything but the customer logo was a vector when I saved it as an eps. but there was a sun with a orange to yellow gradient fill and it lost it completely so I had to make it solid orange which is ok again, but I want to send the design in the way it is not have to change things. What is the deal with Corel and eps. files?

After all this, to make it easier next time and easier for someone else first time has anyone done a step-by-step for "Corel" for their specs. I now know more than I did but it wasn't a very smooth transaction. Their help files are mostly for Adobe Illustrator.

Thanks,

The export option: Postcript Enterpreted is the one you must use. The extension is still .EPS. Exporting as an .AI generally works best with corel, but I guess it depends on who it's going to.

Tony I have never had a problem with folks who requested EPS format not being able to open the files I exported from COrel. BUT as Glenn says if you want to check out what the EPS file looks like by imoprting it back into Corel you must us PostScript interpreted..not Encapsulated PostScript.

That's exactly what I needed to know. Thanks for the help. Now I think I've got it.
