This is inline with timi's post of: "why is it?" As most people here know, that if you try to leave town for vacation,or where ever. The phone rings off the hook, and all of a sudden you have MORE work than wanted at the time, because of your plans made to be gone.IF your plans are made way ahead of time and you are able to alert your customers of your absence at that period, they will USALLY go ahead and order their work BEFORE you leave,to make sure they get teir work done!In most cases my customers will appreciate this and wait till I get back.Setting up a work load for me without having to try.In cases where I plan to go to a Letterhead Meet.I tell them I will be learning something NEW that just might HELP in job to be done!!This REALLY pleases them and shows my concern with their intrest in learning more for the betterment of signs in general. In saying all that,I don't wait to make my commitment to go based on I MIGHT get the monies and time together at the same time in order to leave.SOME HOW this all works out and even makes sense. My Suggestion to anyone wanting to pad that pocket book,is to go ahead right NOW and plan to leave your shop for a few days!
Heck, you could even plan to attend the Duck Soup Splatter Jam! to be held on September 14,15,16 in McCalla Alabama.

You are absolutely right! I've attended about half a dozen meets in the past, and it seems that once I purchase the airline tix and send in the money to whoever is putting on the meet, I get bombed with work. There is no reason for it, but it always happens.
So if anyone is looking for work, make plans to attend Pat's "Duck Soup" Meet in Sept, send him the money, and get ready to work nites and week-ends till Oct just to keep up.
