Well, I just got back from Milwaukee. If I had anymore fun or laughed any harder I would have pissed my pants. My wife and I traveled out to Milwaukee with our friends Brian and Amy Papa from Spider Signs and Lines. We had a BLAST!! Just when you thought you have seen it all, you meet some new artist that just blow you away. This place was just dripping with talent. I had a chance to meet some people from the BB. It was fun to put a face to some of the names. I finally met our Mayor and first Lady. Steve and Barb are wonderful people if you haven't had the chance to meet them. This Letterhead meet was top notch. The S.W.I.N.E. group did an unbelievable job. There was so much going on that you couldn't stand still for long. This was the first meet that I have felt comfortable at. There was a wide range of abilities there and everyone was made to feel welcome. All egos seem to be checked at the door and fun was had by all. If it stayed still long enough, it got painted. They were painting live females, the floor, panels and I heard rumor of someone striping a breakfast muffin. The food and drink was great. I attended many of the seminars and found them to be very helpful. Thanks to Cam Bortz for the gold leaf tricks. I think I may be able to guild after all. Tramp warners Banner seminar was great and his work definitely has inspired me. I have come away from this meet with a much better feeling of who I am, what I do, and the industry I'm a part of. I will do all in my power to make it to every meet I can. I would suggest that you all do the same. See you at the next meet and a final thanks to S.W.I.N.E. Great JOB!!!!!

One more thing. Steve and Barb said judging from my old BB picture they thought I was much taller than I am. Steve insisted on taking a new photo. For the record I'm a towering 5'7". Felix, I hope you had a safe trip home!!

You said it all! I'm Glad we got to meet you and so many others at the meet.
These little bullboard squabbles and fights that errupt here in Letterville never happen at a real live meet. I think its got something to do with our keyboards....it seems to make us communicate differently on the internet than in real life.
Looking forward to the next meet along with you Rob.
p.s.....that is a much better picture of you!

It was nice meeting you Dave, and I enjoyed peeking into your portfolio. Yes, I agree about the squabbles on this board. If more of use got out to these meets and met the others from the board we might be less agressive with our posts.

I have to agree with all of the above. Mike my helper and myself felt intimidated when we first got there, but felt very comfortable fast. We will be attending many more of these meets and hope to see you there.

"Be there or be square" would have been a fitting cliche
Lets just say it was a "STONE GROOVE."
I had a blast and was wishing it didnt end. I met so many people that overwhelmed me at first but as time went on I felt comfortable around all that talent, and with some coaxing from people like Tramp and Alan Johnson, I finally opened my little box of brushes and flung some pigments at the substrates. Guess what? your right, I actually learned something, and now I can prove that I am capable of placing the pigment where its gotta go, yes I need plenty of practice but I now have more refined skills thanx to people like Mike Meyers, Tramp, Dewayne, Bruce, Vince, and Alan and god knows how many others that influenced me.
I spent every waking hour of my weekend at the Expo either watching, learning, talking or painting, and YES I did win one of the greatest door prizes possible. I won an authentic, Harley Davidson, leather jacket. Now all I need is the bike to wear it on. so as a joke, I say that prize cost me $15,000.00
Well anyway it time for a shower, I made it home in time for supper here in Jersey sunday night. I did see a tragic fatal accident happen on the highway in front of me in Indiana, but I made it home in one piece anyway.
Can't wait to get to Alabama!!!!
And to those of you who are sitting on the fence thinking about going, I say:
JUST DO IT!

Hey Steve you really didn't have to fix that photo problem, the shine off of my forehead might ruin some monitors. By the way I forgot to say it nice to meet you and Barb as well as Mr. Draper, Rob Larkin, Jay Allen and everybody else. Also I would like to say a BIG Thanks to the guy that did the KIEK panel I think his first name is Bruce he spent alot of time with me showing me how to use a brush and it got me up and running. Hey Harris I was the other one that won the Harley jacket let me know when you go to buy your Harley maybe we can get a two for one special!!!!

IF ya'll liked the Big International meet(great talent huh?)You will really enjoy the smaller(talented)layed back feel of the Duck Soup Splatter Jam in September! Come on down and share some of what you learned, and maybe pick up some MORE! You got 39Days,10Hours,43Minutes,32Seconds to come down off the high you just experenced to start all over again. Kinda like a DRUG ain't it?
