Hello everyone... this website is so cool!

...anyways, this is the project:

A handcarved and or sandblasted sign that incorporates the customers family crest and some additional copy. It needs to resemble an old english pub sign... yet with an eligant flair as it will hang in a formal dining room... I would love to be able to look at some examples of old medeaval or just early british signs. I already had a cool design but it was taller than wide as is the crest.... alas they want it wider than tall.... thats killing me. I just need to look at some stuff that may help jog my creativity... any suggestions?

thanx

Try doing a search using the word heraldry.
There are a few good heraldic resources on the web.
Be prepared to learn a little of the terminology to better understand the descriptions.
One I just turned up using google is http://www.digiserve.com/heraldry/
Its interesting stuff (if you're of that particular bent.
HTH,
David

There's one my Dad did for an English family about 20 years ago. It's carved out of wood and it's on our website at www.stmariegraphics.com
Just keep scrolling through the carvings till you get to a Cameo page. It's one of the small pictures. Click on it and it gets full sized.

Oops! It won't enlarge. I'll get my brother to fix it tomottow. Sorry!

Hello Glenn,
I believe there was a feature in "A Magazine About Letterheads" in the past few months that featured this type of signs. If you don't get the mag, you should. Good luck.

Here is my own business logo and sign. It sounds very much the layout that you are looking for. If you can use any ideas from it you are welcome to them. Bronzeo.....

NIce looking eye candy!

Curious.....what is the botanical name of that fleur-de-lis? Looks familiar..
