Hi All, I seem to have finally been bitten by a virus the computer kind anyways. I would like to ask if anyone has come across this problem, no A: drive; for all intents and purposes the PC sees it as being there, but try to access the drive & an error message pops up: the disk in drive A: is not formatted when I try to format, the message then pops up about a mismatch. And I do know that the disk is formatted having first checked it on my other PC I tried uninstalling the device & reinstalling the driver to no avail. I have tried accessing it in the msdos mode & still no luck. Could someone please help me with this problem? Regards & thanks in advance Don Lopez

I've had that happen several times without a virus. The culprit was dust. Often the simplest thing for me to do was to replace the drive since they are so cheap anyway.
If youtried switching the drive with one from a different system you could test to see if the problem is the drive or something in your programming.

Rick's right, I've had to replace a couple of floppy drives...and they are so cheap, try putting in a new one and see if that fixes the problem. A

Thanks one & all for the responses. However I have replaced the drive with a new one it worked long enough for me to get 2 disks worth of data transferred & then the same prob again. Thanks again
