Chamoise ......(I can't find my dictionary) but you know.....the leather thing you use to dry off your truck? I had to remove some vinyl letters....didn't have any adhesive remover...so gently buffed the left over adhesive off with the dry chamoise. it worked great! No powerful terrible smell....took less than 5 minutes.....and buffed the sign up great. Damn I am good.

Hey Cheryl, I use 3m remover most of the time. But just tried Zep orange degreaser and I like it better because it don't run off or evaperate because its a sprayable gell. And the odd thing is its for degreasing. Hope this may be helpful .

We too have started using Rapid Remover. It works great. If I could be someone like a movie critic, it would get my "two thumbs up."
The best advice is NOT to run out of Rapid Remover. But when you do run out of Rapid Remover we have to have knowledge of what works and what doesn't.
Thus the delima. How does one post on the BB all the things we have experimented with to remove glue that work, without offending a loyal sponsor of this web site? We need the knowledge and know how to battle every situation, and sometimes Rapid Remover just isn't available. For instance we could be out on a job and run into a situation where we didn't bring Rapid Remover along, and going back to the shop to get it is out of the question.
I have never tried the chamois solution, but I feel I need to know it works. I have heated the glue with a heat gun, rubbed dirt in the glue or pounced it with my pounce bag so the sticky would be eliminated, then used a dry cloth to remove the glue, sort of the same idea as Cheryl's idea. Its not easy, but it works.
In critical situations, we have used mineral spirits, starting fluid, automotive reducers, alcohol and heat and pounce bag dusting with rubbing, to name a few. Body shops use an attachment on their rotating grinders or drill to remove glue. And most auto parts stores carry a spray on adhesive remover.
So, my personal take on this is you must be aware of all the products that will work to remove glue. Rapid Remover does indeed stand out as the leader in the field of glue removal and you probably should buy it by the case and re-sell to your customers and make them take the glue off.
Question for Roger B.:
Why isn't rapid remover available at NAPA, PEP BOYS, CAR QUEST, and all the other automotive stores.
Why doesn't WALL-MART or K-MART, or TARGET have your product on their shelves?
Why don't we see info-mercials on tv (like at 3am with along with the guy that waxes his car then sets it on fire to prove his wax is good stuff!
Why is Rapid Remover so limited in sales to just sign people? This is a product billions of people need, and the reason you spend so much time marketing to JUST sign people has got to be the question of the year!
Are you legally able to let us in on some reasons and what markets Rapid Remover will venture into in the near future?

Another in a pinch emergency glue remover: Ronsonol Lighter fluid... I know, extremely flammable, don't smoke when using it, but when you are 20 miles from humanity, and you got a big glob of glue on the door, try it... (the remover, not smoking...)

hey folks, just a side note to let you know that I always carry a Chamois and 3M cleaner next to Zep Orange degreaser along with Ronsonol lighter fluid, a heat gun and a bag of sand, filled just like a pounce bag and of course lets not forget the rotating disc on the cordless drill and the signmakers best friend "the trusty palette knife". Also carry starting fluid, reducers, thinners, mineral spirits, acetone, alcohol and every other solvent known to man even if just to use with the mini BBQ grill I always carry in the trunk, all this without ever using 1 ounce of common sense.
So now do I qualify as a signmaker or just a journalist, Dave?
