Hello everyone; my former employer and friend for many years...Steve(the Mayor)Shortreed and host of this great website will be glad to see that I finally got around to posting my butt onto this site. Forgive me if I make any stupid mistakes, but this is all fairly new to me. I met Steve a number of years back when he caught sight of me airbrushing a mural onto a car hood at a local car show near his home town of Fergus, ON. I had been doing automotive artwork for a few years at that time but wanted to learn about the sign trade. As I stayed in touch with Steve and Barb, I later on became employed with them and was introduced to the letterhead atmosphere. Need I say more...the opportunity to work in the type of shop that they had at that time was more valuable than several years in college. Since those days I have logged over twenty years in the custom automotive paint trade with numerous awards and magazine features to my credit. I have had the pleasure of meeting some great people along the way and admire them all for their individual talents. In the fall of 1999 I chose to follow another interest and trained to acquire my commercial pilots licence for Helicopter. Recently my family( Linda and daughter Laura )and I have relocated from Midwestern ON to the beautiful area of North Bay, ON. Here I hope to continue to gain my initial experience in flying and am working to try and establish myself again in the painting and sign industry. Regardless of whether the flying goes anywhere for me or not, I know that I will always continue to paint...but sometimes you just need to try something different...just to see if you can do it!

Welcome to Letterville Bevin! It's always a special thrill to see one of our longtime pals show up here at The Letterville BB.
Years ago, Bevin, along with Doug Downey, Pete & Marj Payne joined a bunch of other strangers at our shop here in Fergus, Ont. To our knowledge, this was the first Letterhead Meet in Canada. Many of the people at that first meet never attended another meet but look at the names that did.
I'm very proud of Bevin. He is one of the most talented airbrush artists I have ever met. I know how much it hurt to put his dream of supporting his family off his airbrush work on the back burner and pursue becoming a helicopter pilot. It takes real guts to make hard decisions. Bevin Findlay has that kind of courage.

Welcome Bevin...I believe we met at Steve's last summer when Gail and Dave Beattie were there... If it was you running the airbrush (seems to me it was a beaver doing unmentionable things to...) I admire your talent!
Make yourself comfortable..this is a nice website to visit.

I know Shortreed flies everywhere without leaving his room. Can you set him up to fly those choppers on his computer too? Welcome to Letterville.

I've met Bevin briefly a few times. He does absolutely incredible airbrush work - if you get a chance to see his portfolio or his work in magazines you're in for a real treat.
Anyway, glad to see you made it here Bevin! Welcome.
