Just curious. How many of you have purchased or maybe plan to buy custom fonts that are hand made and digitized from old styles in the future. Thas'it..............Jack

I have in the past and will in the future. I love them much more than standard computer fonts.
I have the Sign DNA Prismatic fonts and one of the Letterhead Font sets.
I will be buying more as the budget allows. I would like to see some better script fonts. There are not many good scripts from the standard computer font manufacturers, but I see great script lettering in the trade mags.

Like Dave,I buy when monies allow.I feel the difference in MY vinyl quickie stickie work, the difference is that MINE have that "hand lettered look"(not so machine made, straight cut)This is a GREAT sales tool in my area and keeps me one step ahead of the rest. I could use a door prize of your stuff at the Duck Soup Splatter Jam to at least be able to SHOW others coming what you have looks like! Hope this helps

I've got most of the DNA fonts and I'm purchasing Letterhead fonts as the budget and demand allow. I purchased Font Grapher and have been experimenting with my own fonts as the lettering skills get better! From what I've experianced at the meets I've attended, it's a good idea to learn this part of the craft. There are still people out there that want this kind of work and are willing to pay for it. However, the bread and butter coming through the door wants it faster and faster and quickie sticky can be rewarding with the use of all these great fonts that are becoming more availible. Thats my 3 cents! Robin

I have been very lucky to have won quite a few fonts. This made me realize all the more how happy I get about new fonts! (just ask my kids) Actually I am still smilin' about all the cool fonts I have won. I like the handlettered look. And there are lots more I have my eyes on. I will buy more in the near future.

I have bought quite a few of "specialized" fonts over the last couple of years as well as the free ones for being a resident here. I plan to continue to purchase more as I see ones that fit with my style (and the bank account allows). I do feel I have an "edge" over my competition by having and using them.

I've bought a number of them in the past and will do so in the future. I've got a couple on my wish list right now. Dave, as far as the scripts go, there a some good ones out there but a lot of them require a good bit of tweaking and experimentation to get them to look right. I still find nothing beats lettering the word in poster color and scanning it myself. Clean up is usually quicker than tweaking a font and the end result has that "just right" look that so hard to get with a font.

I want to make sure Jack Wills and Victor Georgiou of www.anchorblanks.com get a special plug here. For years Jack has been supplying us with CDs for our monthly draws. Both him and Victor have always been Residents and done anything they can to make Letterville a better place.
When these guys met and put together Anchor Blanks, one of the first things they did was become Letterville Merchants. There are some wonderful font vendors out there, but Anchor Blanks and The Fontry are Letterville Merchants.
Checkout your other Merchants at www.letterhead.com/suppliers/ I apoligize for the blatant ad, but those that advertise here deserve a free plug every now and then too.

Jack, I'm always shopping for fonts, Buy when funds allow. Before I found LHF and SignDNA, I had scanned a few pages out of Atkinson's SignPainting and cleaned them up to use. BTW, Ken, I own the Boston Truckstyle Font of yours. And I've made a few bucks with it. I think it's great!
