So what's kickin in your shop. Today I'm working on a 4x8 aluminum sign for a Towing company. Hand painted cartoon tow truck, buisness name with airbrush fade and prismatic outline. A little vinyl (town & Phone# ). Fun job over all.

I shouldn't be on here right now either.. the bullboard is often good to jumpstart me and get me ready to make signs in the morning when I wake up exhausted and lazy.
I have to do some layouts for three vans that have to be done this week, reproduce some guy's somewhat ridiculous logo for his 12' trailer, and later this afternoon I teach corel draw to a couple of students. I do that about 12 hours a week, as it is good steady pay, and I get quite a bit per hour. In the winter I try to pick it up closer to 20 hours a week to supplement for slower sign business. Oh yeah, and go measure my cousins car so I can do him a free striping job he has been bugging me about (i really feel like doing that one... oh wait, no i don't). Bah.

We got all of our installs done the past couple of days, so today we'll be in the shop all day. Building a PVC box marquee sign, paint on a couple carved caducei, letter 4 panfaces, layout a banner for my upcoming 10 year class reunion, get to schooling our new employee started on vinyl, and a few little filler "gravy" jobs (for sale, notice, etc.)

I've been all over the place already this week, and it's only Wednesday!
This morning I did some layout pages for a website I'm co-designing with another designer. I'm learning how to manuever in Photoshop, and mix photos and graphics, so this is a real challenge for me. Alot of highs & lows with it.
I cut and weeded some graphics. They are for a couple of glass doors that I'll install here in about an hour out at the Bilmar Motel on St. Pete Beach. The drive will take longer than the application, but the scenery will be a nice change.
Then I'll come back to the shop, smear myself with some sunscreen and head out to finish a wall job that I started the day before yesterday.
On my way home from the wall, I'll take a loop around my neighbourhood and check out the 4 signs and finials that got installed on their columns yesterday. They were gilded ball finials, and sandblasted HDU signs that I completed last week. It'll be nice to see them in their finished state! (will get pix to post too)
It'll be another full day, and yet so much still won't be getting done. Crazy eh? Not enough hours some days.
Hope everyone has a good one! Nettie

Went to work at around 11pm last night to stripe a dozen vehicles that were supposed to be under a lighted area, at around 2am after finishing four of them I got peeved at everthing from the the executives to the brush manufacturer.
The vehicles were scattered all over the lot and by 1 in the morning there were teenagers flying by every five minutes on skateboards.
You would think that living in a small city with over 200 churches with just as many denominations, someone out there would be helping you rather then trying to box you up and bury your ass with their BS and covering themselves as if it were a friggin mistake.
Well as far as I'm concerned they can all go to hell cause here it is 9am and just got a phone call explaining why things weren't taken care of as if I really give a flying rats ass about some church meeting discussing the after-life when they haven't a clue how to live in the life they have now.

I'm working on 2 coroplast 4X8's that I have been procrastinating on for a couple of weeks, and I'm not quitting today until the dang things are done. They are the "future site of" type with an architects rendering of the condos which I will hand paint on them.
I have tons of other work to do, but I've just got to get these things outa here, so that will take most of my day.

Had breakfast with Cody, watched part of The Fox and The Hound, weeded some of the garden, watched some road construction from our yard, mucked out the horse stall, then came in for lunch. (can anyone tell it's my day off? LOL)
Over the next 2 days, I'm wrapping things up for a week. I'm taking my mom and Cody out to a nearby lake resort with an rv and have a beach vacation all of next week. Yahoo! Thurs and Fri will be challenging. I have a firetruck to do each day and then some.

He didn't tell you much about the street signs, so I will. I designed a street sign prototype for a lakeside housing development that has a protected waterfowl area near it, so the signs have the name of the street and an illustration of a Great Heron nesting within an oval. They're all done in earth tones and look the same except for the street name, of course.

Here's my day... 2 hours baby sitting our 15 and 18 month-old foster boys while my wife was at the hair dresser. 3 hours working on an airbrushed van job. 2 hours running vinyl for some coroplasts and a van that's coming in next Monday. 1 hour measuring a pickup truck and discussing the world's ugliest logo ( it was designed by the customer ) this truck is going to be DOG UGLY but customer loves his logo!
Time to work on an oil painting now as the foster kids are sleeping like what they are...babies
