Janette let me know the name of a font she used which I have always liked. It's called burgess. My buddy has it in his gerber system as a gerber font. I'd like to get it as a TTF. Any suggestions on where I may purchase it. Thanks Heads!

To get a .tif file of the font, all one needs to do is open Composer, type in the font...ABCDEFG....fill with black, cuts off, combine shapes and "save as" Burgess.tif then e-mail it to you.
That's the procedure.

YIKES!! Vic,you must think I actually know the difference. This is my story and I am sticking to it!he he he I am runnung a Graphix Advatage 6.2 program.Cutting from the 4B.The letter style is called "Burgess Brush" NOT included with the GA. One(1)call to Gerber 1-800-222-7446 got it to me in True Type Format! It is also located in the Gerber Type Styles catalog I recieved when I purchased the 4B.The Omega is a NEWER form and hence the problem. Hope this helps Vic

Graphix Advantage does not use Trutype fonts directly - it uses a Gerber Font Format. Omega uses TT fonts.
You can run TT fonts with GA6 but you have to put them thru a file converter that comes with GA6.
The point is, Pat King probably bought a Gerber font.
If you own a GA 6 font and want to convert it to trutype you are halfway there with eps. Corel 7 and up has a trutype export filter that will make a passable typing font. It is poorly documented but not that hard to figure out. It's a fairly time consuming thing if you have not done it before, so if Gerber can do Trutype format for you that might be the better alternative.
Whatever you do, please respect the font copyright. Vic G

ive always found most fonts are the same as another font with a different name....what geber calls burgess might be the same as bazooka....ttf font or brush hand....throw a word up there usin the font...can probably find somethin close..if not the same....and a lot of type ones will do the same thing...exception being DYNOMO type 1 nothin else comes close...

If I remember correctly, Burgess is a font that was made by a sign guy. Geber had a contest years ago for sign guys to send in their hand painted fonts. Burgess was one that was a winner....and it also might be the sign guys name.
Of course, I could be wrong becasue my eyes seem to fail me in this thread, and my memory might be going bad too....

Dave you are right about the font being designed by a handletter.I have lettered this perticular type style many times noticing the small nuaunces associated to the lettering brush such as a quill.I ca also tell the way other type styles such as "Snappy" "Beansprout" etc wher the designer started his stroke and ended it. Any newbies looking to learn hand lettering would benifit from these.Of Course you gotta have a puter FIRST!!! Ironic huh?

Thanks for your help all...But I was just imformed by Gerber that Burgess Brush can not be sold as a truetype font. I refuse to buy their system just to get a font. The more gerber changes the more they stay the same. I'll wait til' someone makes some slight changes to the font and renames it, then sells it for a fraction of the price gerber asks for their wares. Thanks again ALL!!
