Hi Heads. I was the first customer at the Redmond Headquarters when they opened. I gave them the tracking number and explained how important this package is. I told them where it had been and where it was going. 2 people were looking for it, but said it just wasn't there. They then told me the sender has to call 1 800 PICKUPS and let them know this package is lost. I said several people had written email, and several have called. They said the sticker may have gotten damaged and is now unreadable, and it would be in the lost package center. I asked where that would be, thinking I could go search....but they didn't know where that center was~!? So I guess you have to call them Jackson, since you were the last sender. I was unauthorized to do so.....since I didn't send it last. Sheesh. Poor Baby Doll. Sorry I couldn't tell you better news. Let me know if there is anything else I can do.

Hi Cheryl....Just got off the phone with UPS customer services in Arizona. I gave her all the information I had about the package. She said they were going to look for it? in the UPS Twilight Zone...
I also told her (again!) the the package was VERY important to us. I said there were 4000 or so sign-folk watching this ordeal...and they were NOT HAPPY!!!! She knew that there were signatures on the banner, and it was on it's way around the US.
So...even tho she was some person in a cubilce in Arizona trying to find a lost package....she was not wanting to hear that the 4000 or so customers might not use UPS again....which I STRESSED several times during our conversation (haha) Maybe it will light a fire under someones ass in the huge monster called UPS!!!
They have used up thier 8 days...now they best be finding the "Baby Doll" soon or it's "Lock and Load!!!!!!
FedEx is looking "real good" just about now!

Let's just go ahead and put in a claim, I think they have to cough up $100. That is probably about all "Baby Doll" would have gone for at auction anyway. We will donate the $100 to "Letterville", and I'll figure out a different project to take to "Duck Soup".
I do not blame you Jackson, and you should not blame yourself! It was UPS who screwed this thing up.
I wish to thank all of the 'Heads who participated, and those who wanted to participate, but were never given a chance. If "Baby Doll" does happen to show up, I do not think there would be any way possible to get her to " Duck Soup" in time, (unless we left a whole bunch of letterheads out).

Well, why not go ahead and start it all over again? This time take all the precautions mentioned by all the good letterhead folks here. Address inside and out, or hand deliver it. After all, it is our baybee! It may show up sometime, but in the meantime..... it is just a thought, and the original, if found can be sewn to the other side of this new one! If the ends match, so what? It will have no beginning and no end, so much like the dreams we have.

Bummer - I actually signed it! Well, at least I designed & cut & prepped my vinyl & Cisco applied it for me. Jackson, here's one more idea (or two). Ask for a Manager. If the Manager tells you the same thing, ask for HIS Manager - get as high up as you can. Give the Manager this web address & tell him what posts to read regarding the Baby Doll Banner. Also, tell him to look at our Data Base. Then, tell him that over 4,000 members WILL NOT use UPS, ever again. Or, find out his e-mail and attach all these responses from the BB. Also, the claim for $100 is far to little to settle for. How many people have signed it? How long did it take each person? What is each person's going rate for sign work? Do the math - it's worth much more than $100 !! Just a few (angry at UPS) thoughts! My firm experienced such a fiasco with Airborne over the holidays last year. We dropped them. We've had much better luck with FedEx, and have used UPS. But, we're now re-thinking our strategy to ship good 'ol US Mail. As everyone's said before - it ain't no one's fault but UPS !!! Hope no one does fleet vehicles for them. Heh heh - lose the trucks for a month & see how they like it. Bomba-Dear

My hubby pulled strings but apparently the other end is all tangled up. They were not able to give me any good news for you. He did try hard though, despite all we had to read through to get to the information.
You will start the next traveling banner! and I'll be the first to sign up for it!
Let's Go!

Dave..We, in Canada, started a banner too, last I heard it was somewhere between Halifax and Newfoundland..am I worried?..nope..and I hope Stephen isn't either..You can try to get something happening and either the shpper will screw up or the participants will.."s**t happens"
If it is OK that is great...if it is sunk somewhere between the "rock" and the rest of Canada...so be it. We asked that folks give us an update..if THEY can't be bothered then I know I can't be bothered either!!! And believe me..I won't lose a second of sleep over it!
e-mail is cheap..a message would be appreciated.

Good news! Nope not found yet, but the boys here say it could be in Utah undeliverable or whatever they call it. They are calling there today for you and when asked what to do with it if they find it, hubby told em to send it to the address you gave me, last known destination! Hopefully you'll have it really soon!
In other words, still got hope of gettin it back, I know the schedule thing sucks, but hubby is doin eveything imaginable to get it back to you, he knows just how important Baby Doll is to you!

She just might show up, if she does I really think she should be reboxed and put some insurance on her. I can see alot of folks went thru alot of hassles over her. Lets all hope for the best.

I will start this new one and hand deliver it to the next person if they are going to a meet. Since I am the only one so far in Ohio that is going to a meet (and I checked with several people) I may be taking it to anyone in the Chicago/Rockford/Milwaukee area and then they can pass it on. Someone from the meet can take it out west or something and we can conglomerate on signing if you wish. Jackie, I was just thinking the same thing about shipping insurance. Professional labor cost! Put the insurance high, and they may not misplace it so easily also! Labels inside, outside and a sturdy method that won't crush or tear in case it gets packed or thrown to the bottom of the heap. I bet it will be found, but maybe in Aug. or Sept. Then, just sew it on, even if there are duplicate signatures! (restitution to the ones who sweated this out): double billing! Yes... baybee doll will be found, have hope! How many people would like me to start one? I have extra material and here is the choice: a roll of 2' bandanna which I could do a 14 ft. no strings, just grommets, a 3' by 5' banner with no grommets, just hems, or a simple piece of vinyl about 3 by 5 no hems, just off the roll. None of this is enamel receptive, I got it on a big sale, but if it will work, please tell me. I am ready this week! And I need the permission of you to start.
oops, forgot to mention that I may be travelling to Illinois as soon as this coming weekend for a short trip. I can possibly get it moving that soon. If someone feels it is necessary to ship at some point, I don't mind either; I am just attempting to narrow down the possibilities of having it get lost (or misplaced)in shipping. For that fact, just send us the timothy hay and I will bring it on horseback! I do owe some visits. (yes, I can come Canada way too!)
