If I could put two icons at the top of this post I would... the grumpy one I have and a smiley one too. (Happy passive-aggressive day!)
TigerDirect does have a great sale going on here and I did pick up a copy of Corel 9 for the office at my "day job", BUT (and that's a mighty big but) they charge ya 21.25 for UPS GROUND shipping!!!!
I called, I griped, and I got no where but back to the obnoxious shipping "and handling" fee. The operators even thought $21.25 was stiff! But none the less they are stuck with what they have on the screen. BTW, it costs $8.71 to actually ship this 19 pound box from Illinios to California.... so Tiger's making some of that "sacraficing" sales price back in shipping to the fools in California.
Be prepared to pay around $50 for Corel 9... but on the positive side- that's a whole lot less than the $400 new release retail price!

I just upgraded from Corel 7 to 8.....25.90 including shipping with the "buy it now" feature on an ebay auction. No manuals included. With the help tutorials the manuals are not a must have.
The interactive shadow tool really makes layouts pop!
Also I understand the contour is better than 7 which sometimes was not accurate with my experience.
The color palette is too "pastel" for my liking but I will continue to tweak it.

I just rang them through the netphone link that they offer and they said that they don't sell it as a seperate item but only include it within a system. so did you folks get it from them as a seperate item?

I tried to order this software last night using my credit card, but it told me there was a problem with the UPS shipping and I didn't get to finish the deal. When I called this morning, they quoted me $149 plus shipping. When I told them of the $29.61 offer on their web site, he told me it was only available with a computer system at that price. I even talked with a supervisor who told me the same thing and wouldn't sell to me at the advertised price. I told him several people on a BB had purchased it and had already received it, but he said all those people would be getting a letter telling them to return it or pay the full price.....yeah right.
I gave them my name and number but I doubt I will get it at that price. Worth a shot, I guess.

Hi again, For those interested, I went to the TigerDirect Web Site and looked at their Clearance pages, then the software group. Sure enough, Corel 9 with full manuals are shown there. I called the 800 number and clicked on the customer service (not the sales department) leg of the phone list and asked the person if I could buy the item shown on the Clearance page. He said yes and took my order for a total of $45.86 with UPS shipping.
It sounds like the sales department doesn't have the memo that it is on sale.

Thanks Mike for the tip I just got off the netphone with tigerdirect and have placed the order. Shipping included all the way to Ireland total cost $82.09. Thank you letterheads one and all!!!! :
