I was doing a job at a custom car audio place that i do stuff for sometimes, and in the two hours I was there, he turned down two tint jobs, because he doesn't do them. He said he turns down two to three a day. I talked to him about possibly setting up one day a week where I would come out and do tint all day, and he could get a comission for getting the jobs. Only problem is that I never tinted windows before. Just a little setback, right? Anyone do this as a sideline at your shop? Also, anyone know anything about cutting window tint on your plotter, so you can do custom shapes and whatnot? thanks!

Tinting is super easy. Down here you can get 20" x 5' rolls for about 6 bucks at any Western Auto or sound center. I don't do it for a living, but I got tons of practice as a kid with my first car. (cops would pull me over & make me take them off, but they'd be up again the next day!) I've always bought "Sun Gard" cause they take longer to turn purplish. I Find "Sun Shade" real crappy. (thin) The good tint shops around here can get some real big rolls of 3M material with lifetime warranty & charge about 100 bucks for it. Hope this helps.
