The best thing I've found in the Ink Dezyne brand is their Multi Purpose ink. Other brands would have an equivelent. Enamels sorta work but don't provide as good a bond.

Polycarbonates have a wide range of inks that will work with it. Nazdar's 9700 and 7700 series would do well. You can find out more at www.nazdar.com.
I've recently started using inks from a company called ColorFX (1-800-427-7633).
The reason for the switch is because Nazdar has stopped selling ink in quarts for the most part.
Jim and Glenn are correct on their suggestions for the correct ink. A problem you may well encounter however, is "static electricity". It can make little hairline fuzzies around the edges of your letters. I've had reasonable luck by rubbing the surface of plexi with a sheet of "Bounce" or some similar fabric softener, like you would use in your clothes dryer.

Just a word of caution. If this plex is flame polished on the edges, any fairly "hot" ink including Naz Dar's 9700 series can cause severe crazing of the plex. I've had 1/2" plex crack as far as 3/4" from the edges.

A good multi purpose ink worked for me. I would wipe the back with a damp cloth before printing each color, and if it needed more coaxing, I would lay a damp paper towel under at the press. Never tried the Bounce trick, but whatever works, ya know! Same for plastic cars and boats, spray the back side with water or glass cleaner After cleaning the surface to be painted worked for me.

The paint manufacturers know what they are doing...trust them! Nazdar makes a product called "Plastisol" it is made especially for printing on plastics (acrylic especially)get the proper thinners aand practice on some scrap...you'll be most pleased with the results...I never found the "all purpose inks" satisfactory (but to each his own). Keep a damp (with water) chamois and wipe each piece (on the back side) before you screen and you will have no static problems. Good luck and let us know how it all comes out.
