Hi guys,

All this mural talk has given me the itch to jump right in. My shop is home based, computer and vinyl in the basement and painting/shop in the single, attached garage.

I'd like to paint something on the garage door. I'm thinking an old fashioned signshop store front would be cool, complete with "Sedor Signs" lettered on the faux front window. Our house is quite old, it originally was the RCMP baracks in town, and years ago was converted to a house. (I'd post a pic, but haven't figured that out yet!)

Anybody have any old pics to share, or can direct me to a website, or a good book, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Sue

Wow, must be something in the air! I am working on my garage door as well. I figure that if I can't own a Ferrari or a Porsche, I can at least paint it to look like I have them in the garage... But when the door is open all they will see is the minivan and a dilapated Subaru! Have fun, the neighbors have been great about all this!

I have always been a huge fan of the Ford Cobra. At our old house I painted the garage door to look like the Cobra was parked inside on a checkered floor with assorted Cobra pics and posters on the walls. Neighbors and customers both talked about how neat it was. The guy that bought our house was not so impressed, so I painted the door white before we left.

I think it'd be cool to have a side walk going left/right with a street not far off in the backround and match the terrain/foilage around the property. It would take dimension away from your Home and make the House look like a simple flat wall prop from Hollywood or something. LOL Maybe have a huge speeding train comming straight at you or cowboys fighting indians like a F. Remington thingy. hehehehe If you want a diferent approach. My personal tase would be sumpin like that vintage room with mickey playin piano and all the characters jamming along. The scene is a common shown vintage Mickey Mouse scene. HEEEEY! Paint a hole in your Garage door with Pooh stuck in it and Tigger and Piglet trying to pull him out!!! SEE! This is what happens to me when I paint til 3am and get up slamming a few cups of coffee. I'll shut up now. Let us know how it turns out!
