I also have had this problem. I find myself using Flexi less & less because of this.

not sure if this will help or not. I use Corel and when I convert the file to ai file to bring into cutter software, I convert the text to curves. I was having problems when I did layouts in cutter software, saved and re-opened it told me it couldn't find the font. I bought Corel, started doing layouts there and converting text to curves. No problems since.

Hi Matthew:

TypeTools, by FontLab Developers Group:

With it you can create TrueType and Adobe Type1 fonts from curve data, such as CASmate fonts that have been exported as an EPS. It's a bit time-consuming, but doable.

Rossi7,

Assuming that you are using a current version of Flexi (6.5 or greater), you should be able to have Flexisign use and access any and all CASmate fonts.

Scanvec used to package the fonts in library files with an .SCF file extension. One .SCF file can literally contain hundreds of fonts. The fonts that CASmate packaged have changed over the years, but the following .SCF library files represent the apx. 700 fonts that later versions of CASmate-Pro shipped with:

Bitstrm1.SCF
Bitstrm2.SCF
Bitstrm3.SCF
Braille.SCF
CASmate.SCF
Highway.SCF
Nrfonts1.SCF
Nrfonts2.SCF
Nrfonts3.SCF

Step1- Locate these library files either on your hard disk drive, or on the CASmate/ Fonts CD-ROM.
Step2- Create a sub-folder located below the Flexi installation folder called \CASFonts (i.e. C:\Flexisign\CASFonts). This can be done in Windows Explorer by clicking the File Menu, -->New-->Folder.
Step 3- Copy the above nine .SCF library files into the newly created folder. The next time you launch Flexi, you should see the CASmate fonts listed in alphabetical order, with the designation FF (FlexiFont) next to each one. That should do it. Please feel free to email or contact us with any questions on this procedure.
