Here are some shots I got quite a ways back, when I first moved to the desert.. I admit it, the last pic on this page is actually a sunrise, not a sunset. =)

Bruce, you were here in Havasu over Memorial Day weekend and didnt look me up? Yes, the scenery was quite nice that weekend, and it's been just as nice every weekend since then.
Myra, no bother at all! In fact, I'll join you at the beach cause that's where I am most of the time anyway!
Mike and Dave, just one visit here and you will be addicted. Anyone I've ever talked to that's been here wants to move here. =) I know it only took me one trip to decide I wanted to live here, it just took a few more years to get things sorted so I could make the jump.
Glad ya'll like the shots!

Looks wonderful Mike! We've been to many places over the last few years, but your area remains on our must see list along with Texas. What is it like in the winter?

Winter? what's that? We have two seasons here.. HOT and Not so hot.
November-December temps range from the 60's to the 80's.
January-February temps range from 50's to 70's.
March ranges 70's to 90's - this year I was in St Louis for the winter but came back in Mid-March to 90 degree temps..
Since we only get 3 inches of rain per year here, most of the winter is pretty sunny and cloudless. February is our best chance for any kind of rain however if it actually rains any longer than an hour out of the day I'd be surprised.

Ok Mike, now tell the nice peolpe how hot is hot...like 120 to 130 is not unheard of most days in the summer..cools off to a wonderful 105 at 2am Now, about those pictures...WOW! I'll have to send you copies of the sunsets I took of that same spot (Calif side mountains) about 30 years ago...just as spectacular! It did have it's good moments (the Nov-Feb ones). It's the only place I've ever lived where it was fun to look at the skies thru a telescope late at night cause it was always nice & warm outside. It is also in a really beautiful piece of desert. April is outstanding in years that there is good rain thru the winter, the best desert wildflower show on earth! Thanks for the GOOD memories Mikie Karen PS hey Steve....when you all decide to check out the other parts of the west (the best ones ), let me know & I'll give you an insiders travel guide to all the best places in Az, Utah(ok, LE can help too), & Colorado. ------------------ Karen Sartain 4030 J75 Drive Paonia, Co 81428

Karen, Steve asked how the winter is so I conveniently left out the details about the summer heat.
OK.. this year the 100's started in April.. so far we've seen 116 degrees here in Havasu and it's been pretty much 105-115 all of June. Now I would say 120 is common in August but anything over 125 is only gonna last a day or two at a time. 130 is possible but it's gonna be very isolated.
Forget about watching forecasts for any location in Arizona. Havasu's weather is always nicer than Phoenix's weather (only 3 hours away too). Arizona has all the climates rolled up into one state.. it might be 120 and sunny here, Phoenix can be 20 degrees cooler and getting pounded with rain and hail, while Flagstaff is having temps in the 70's. The temperature at my house has been as much as 10 degrees cooler than the temp closer into the heart of the city just two miles away.

My father in-law just moved there, loves it except now he needs a new car (one with A/C) Never really needed A/C up here in Colorado... Got a cool job doing some kayaking tours on the river, something about spring break and coeds, couldn't quite catch all the details!!! We are thinking of coming down your way sometime this fall, once the broiler gets turned down a bit!
