I have that set-up, but with dye sublmation inks using and Epson 3000.
Toner sublimation came on the market first (see if you can located Flash Magazine on the internet) I sent off for some samples but decided against going the toner route for 2 reasons: the colors didn't seem as vibrant, and the cost. At the time, I couldn't afford buying a large format color laser printer. When the dye sub for inkjets came on the market, I already had the large format printer, and there were several suppliers for the inks and substrates. I can dye sub everything from t-shirts & mugs to aluminum signs, fabric banners, licence plates, award plaques and a ton of other stuff. It's been a life saver for me, as I didn't want to have to leave the sign business completely, when I was no longer able to handle the physical aspects of making signs & banners.
