We just got back from Nova Scotia. Someone out there is making outstanding carved gold leaf signs along Rt 1 between Bar Harbour and Rockport Maine. Are any of you letterheads responsible for them?

There's some good carvers down in Maine. John Marsh does a lot of that work around Boothbay, and then there's a fellow in Camden that does real nice work, though I disremember his name at the moment. SignCraft did an article on him a few years ago.

We visited Maine last year and seen some fine work in Boothbay. Looks like a return visit next month and will be traveling further up the coast, hopefully being able to skip over to Nova Scotia. This Michigander feels right at home there.

We had a wonderful time, got to Peggy's cove, spent the whole day there.Weather was breezy and cool, perfect!
We did a lot of driving (2,000 miles tl) and saw a lot of coast line.
It was cold and rainy when we boarded the 'CAT' coming home.
(high speed catamaran)
Grey may know this vessel as it brings passengers to and from Tasmania and Aus in the winter.
Camden was one town I noted as was Northwood, NH and Rockport, ME (Dorr signs?)that had great sign work.
We were on a schedual and unable to stop to take pictures, but we 'Ooo'd and awww'd' a lot!
One sign we remember as we entered Nova Scotia was on the Trans Can hwy at Memramcook, we wished we could have been able to get a shot of that one.
There were so many we wished we could have taken pics of!
I think more Letterheads should vacation together....how many family members do you know of get so excited seeing signs as they travel.
One day I may make a book entitled "Signs Coast to Coast" beats those side trips to "The largest ball of twine in America"!

I saw some fine work down around Dinwiddle VA. on the way to the dragstrip. Just want to compliment whoever was responsible for it.
Keep the faith, Tom

I figured it would be a "whirlwind" trip! Glad you enjoyed it. Come back again when you can stay longer.

Diane, sorry we never made contact, it was just too fast a visit, but now I know I want to come back.
Maine looked so pretty too, we stayed near Freeport two different nights.
I'm finally leaving the happy home of the Balch's....they have been a lot of fun, very nice folks with a great family.
I grew quite fond of them while I've been here and I hope they will come visit me someday in California.
If you ever get in their neck of the woods, stop by and say hi, you'll enjoy them.
