Doubleclick, one of the major players in online ads that tracks your movements via their cookie (IMHO, they are the company that gave coookies a bad name) has posted on their site the ability to opt out of their tracking methods.
This will set your DobuleClick "cookie" to have a value of OPTOUT, meaning that when you visit a site running DoubleClick ads, the cookie will be checked and then ignored.
