I'm making up a 8x12 that has a digital print along with all reflective vinyl lettering applied to painted mdo. Instead of only spraying the print I was going to spray the whole sign with a clear uv protection. Does anyone know if this changes the reflective properties of the vinyl. I was going to try to use Pelucid for this job and I have never used it before. I have sprayed a small piece of reflective with Frog juice and it seems to alter the reflective nature a bit. Hard to say for sure...

Yep.......It will alter the reflective quality because it depends on light refraction. Pelucid will tend to equalize it. Great schtuff, and it'll make the sign a "forever" where the digital is concerned, but probably will lessen the reflective effect.

if you are only using industrial grade reflective the effect the coatingwill have will be really noticable but if you are using the type with the honeycomb pattern or the diamond pattern they are that bright anyway it will be hardly noticable the last two also have a 12year life without any coating the industrial grade is 5 years hope this helps Ian

I'm eager to learn how Pelucid works too. Give it a good testing and get back to us Pierre. How long does Pelucid take to dry? Do you see it ever becoming available as a spray?

It's dry to the touch in four hours and ready for water misting and recoat. I can't concieve of it being available in a spray because ANY excess on the tip would set up fast and irretrievably hard. Even using a spray gun requires special and immediate care of the tip. It does, however, remain flexible even after curing. The more often it gets wet.....the harder it gets.
