Jeff...I'm feeling real guilty right now. For a number of reasons, this meet is just not getting the amount of promotion it deserves. I started a website about this meet months ago at http://www.letterhead.com/meets/milwaukee2001/index.html
It's badly in need of being updated, and I've just been too pre-occupied with other things happening in my life. Please let us know what we can add to the existing page and keep using this BB to get the word out.

Just bumping up the post!! Steve and Barb, we understand you have been busy, you're doing fine...until you get back to the site to work on it, we can keep bumping it up. Right?

What kind of beer do they have in Milwaukee!!??? What kind would you like? Several major breweries are, or were, based there including Miller, Pabst, Schlitz (the beer that made Milwaukee famous!), Blatz, Gettleman, Peoples & others long gone. After the financial/cultural nuclear winter of the Reagan years, only Miller & Pabst were left standing & now Pabst is history as well. Through the 90's (& coinciding with the Bubba years?) microbreweries/pubs struggled and are now seemingly on every corner, much to the delight of Milwaukeans & visitors alike. You got yer pilsners& bocks&cream ales&porters&stouts&oat&wheat&toasted hops and too many more to mention here. And they all go great with Milwaukee's world-famous Friday night fish fry, a meal not to be missed, indeed! Get a cab, or better yet, Dave's rusty van, er, I mean the letterhead shuttle service & do a pub crawl and sample some of Milwaukee's, indeed the nation's, finest hand-crafted brewed beverages in style. Yeah, I'll bet since Dave the Letterman doesn't drink he'd be more than happy to be a designated driver...I hear Mike Meyer is on the wagon, too--another tour guide?
Oh, and don't forget you WILL need a driver, for real, to do any brew-pub tasting cuz Milwaukee is about 15 or 20 miles from the meet site, in Waukesha, and Wisconsin strictly enforces its drunk driving laws...
Yer Pal, Bill Krupinski a short crawl from the Milwaukee Panel Jam, in Waukesha

Does anyone have a list of hotels close to the event? I am slow at getting around to making plans. Been too busy, but decided I'm cutting out of here for the event and will call it may vacation for the year.
If anyone has information on the local hotels near the meet I would greatly appreciate it.

If you all were wondering, I am not dead. We had a slight computer melt-down all starting when I was too busy to install a CD writer on our internet surfin' machine, the wife said that if I don't do it she's gonna. I knew I was in trouble when I walked in and she had a crowbar trying to pry open the CD drive with an angry look, she says go get the cuttin' torch. That's when I thought I better step up to the plate, after 2 hours on the phone, my brother in Texas walked me through the process and we're back online.
We know the guys are all excited about the vast selection of beer available in Beersconsin along with all the cheese, but it's about the International Meet. Paint slingin', good times, learning and sharing and the best darn food in the state, monster trucks, wall murals, seminars, all the guest speakers, it should be the greatest show on earth.
To answer a few earlier posts; Felix there will be plenty of people to teach you, Steve you're doing a good job, thanks Deb for pumping up the post, Pam if you still need a hotel list you can find it all here at the Letterhead website, we are very pleased that Mike Lavallee is coming and Bob Parsons told us he's got his flight from Anchorage, Alaska so things are shaping up. Big meeting tomorrow night at brother Barry's, we can let you know more after the meeting. Mike Meyer, or our hero, we hope you're doing fine; looking forward to seeing you here.

I got the list of hotels and called in reservations at the Holiday Inn. With the State Fair starting at the same time I was afraid I wouldn't get a room in time. It's almost July already! What happened to June?
I gotta get my registration form filled out and sent in and I'll be all set.
Thats for faxing the hotel list Barry, if your listening (O.K. reading).
