A year or so ago I re-did a face for an outdoor illuminated sign. The face is 72" round (originally a 9-ball sign) The new owner purchased new plexi for the sign that was about 3/4" thick and clear. Now the sign needs updated and his buddies with the bucket truck dropped them and they busted. He needs to order new plexi but if there were a better, less costly substitute for the plexi, that could be an option. I've thought of something like cooley-brite but the sign being round might be hard to clip in there without some sort of hoop type framework to keep it taught.
It will be done in vinyl so the substrate needs to be transluscent white, or I will have to paint it.
Any thoughts?
Thanks,

I have to agree with the group Tony, use lexan. If I can't sell a job using that, then it is not worth taking. Since you brought up plexi, I am interested in a new product called SintraTop. Basically it is a pvc sintra product with a gloss finish of some type. Looks like a great replacement for those interior colored plex signs, which would be a lot easier to cut too. Doesn't look like it scratches easy either.

Dave I know what you are talking about. I saw it at a sign show near Boston. I'm notquite sure where to get it though. I'll check my literature from the show.
