I think you need to get over it CJ. Life is already hard enough without having to abuse what is so nicely provided for you. There are a lot of things to share in this biz and these are fantastic people just trying to survive. To fight over whether there is free speech or not, there are more appropriate times and a different BB to use. Are you paying Letterhead's bills? I suggest not by your visitor's status. And there is no free speech, just good manners and common sense. This BB is world wide and what you said could have been offensive to an innocent bystander that your words could have affected, and was interested in investing in Letterhead. Peace out brother and take a chill pill. Life is too short to be soo frivolous.

If this site has no traffic then it will have no advertisers. That being said, both residents and visitors to this site are in a sense "paying the bills".
Don't get me wrong though...i'm not defending anyone's beliefs or comments. The little "visitor" stabs always get me though.

If you don't like being labeled "Visitor"....you can always send in your "tax"
Didn't take a genius to figure that out!
Would you bitch about a free meal? movie? T shirt? or any other FREE item? If you aren't kicking a share of the expenses..you don't have a right to complain! But then again, that's only my opinion!

We agree Donna. If we are to attract new Residents to Letterville, we have to come up with new "incentives" that make being a Resident irresistible. Visitors are no less important than Residents. They just miss out on some downloads and the monthly draws.
Bruce...I realize there is a trend out there to "let our suppliers pay for everything." Nothing wrong with that, if you are prepared to work for them instead of signmakers. We've already had a major sign software advertiser walk because we refused to delete certain posts they did not like. You cannot serve two masters. Anyone interested in why we are looking for Residents can learn more at www.letterhead.com/residents/
It looks like I have really got ole' CJ mad at me this time. Some of you have e-mailed or called believing us "meanies" are deleting all his recent posts. I did delete a post of his Saturday night that I felt was too outrageous. The others, like this thread, is just CJ's idea of having fun. Looks like I have some fence mending to do.

I'm not going to send this thing on a resident/visitor path. We all do what we can. Residents and visitors to this forum for the past several years know haw far it has come since the Letterville change. I miss some of the continuity that the previous format offered in a sense, that, there was the ability to reply to an individual post to a thread and not actually break the thread. This format, though miles ahead of the previous, does not have that option. Conversely we are still struggling with that to some extent.
I have to take some exception to a "snap" judgement from the first time poster from Quebec, Jiggly Jenny. Jenny, if you will click on the icons across the top of your post, you will see that you are a 1st time poster on day 1, we want you here, welcome. Now, click on the same icon on C.J.'s post, notice the difference. Yes, he does have visitor under his name, but you don't have any idea about his contribution to this forum. We want him here also. Some others with the visitor tag contribute greatly as do the residents. Steve, maybe you could use the number of post as a sort of tax rebate of sorts.
By the way, I didn't read the original post here, so I don't know what was said. I'm just commentting on this seemingly worsening situation. ------------------ Santo Brocato Promotion Graphics & Letters Youngsville LA.

at the onset let me say i have absobloodylutly no idea whats been going on with regard to this visitor/resident thingie but.... hey there is alway a but isnt there
i was a visitor here for a way long time...being that i'm old and have been around for ever hehehe
the main reason for my visitor status was that like everyone here at some time, i just didnt have the money to send.... exchange rates as they have been and all that stuff
anyhoo i tried to be as constructive and helpfull as i could be while i enjoyed the FREEdom of this place and the help i tried to offer was in my mind sum sorta payment for all that i recieved, no one likes to feel beholding i guess, so we come up with all sorts of reasons as to why that aint so
when i knew that i was coming up-over last year one of the things that impressed me most about the trip was that at sum point i would be standing face to face with steve & barb and whilst still on a super tight buget would have real up-over money in my pocket to pay my taxes with!!!
now as friends steve n barb shared their home and family with us for a week and as friends we will hopefully one day get to return the favour (or else)
but as suppliers of this place we cant expect that the same thing applies, nor should we
how would you feel if sumone walked into your place of business and used your puter, plotter, spraybooth, sign wall... ect every day for as long as they wanted without helping to cover the cost you HAVE to pay to keep all that stuff operational? not once in a while but every single day for years???
as a visitor i was never made to feel 'less important' than any one else, i was never ' not allowed' to do stuff or use things i found here for my own personal gain.... i was NEVER made to feel like a visitor!
as a tax payer i feel thankfull that this place exists
as a friend i pray that steve and barb can keep 'their business' operational for a long time o come, for all of us.
cheers gail
