ok..been usin a roland since 92, got another one recently....was a question posted on here about offset....well lets hear some input....my pnc-1000 only has a setting for pen or cutter..no adjusment....the pnc-1100 has pen/cutter...but also has a manual setting for offset..the default is 10 compensation units(what the h**** them is i have no id-era, other then less is small and bigger is moe)so i moved mine up to 14, went to my vinyl supplier and he said most set em at 16-17...now added question here PAY ATTENTION!!!.hhehehehe...with the blade being a 45...it would be set at 14, now if you put in a 60 blade...wouldnt that offset need to be changed?....i got a 60 in right now and offset is at 12....so when i put back in a 45..i should raise the offset to 14-15....and then there is the roland ZEE blade really tiny cuttin tip..where do you set offset for it....and then 3rd question: how much pressure do you actually need to cut with a 60 as oppossed to a 45?....i put the 60 blade in(new one) and did some test cuts at 30, 40, 50, and 60 g...(this is on hp vinyl) and the weeding was a lot better with the 60 then the 30, but the 30 did cut the vinyl.....and do any of you mark the slider so you have an idea of how much pressure your using?

Hi Joe: In general, I have never had to adjust offset for most vinyls. It becomes more of an issue when cutting heavier materials. When cutting a shape (a circle for example), If the cutter stops the cut exactly where it started, the material may not weed properly because the thick material was not completely cut due to the angle of the blade. The only time I have had to change it is when cutting really thick stuff. The slide switch on the Roland is just used to compensate for wear on the blade. As the blade gets duller, you can tweak the pressure up a little to get a good test cut. On some of the Rolands, the offset adjustment is done with little dip switches, but I don't know about your model.
