We have been using a Roland CJ500 large format inkjet printer/cutter for lettering vehicles and doing partial vehicle wraps. We laminate the prints with a cast vinyl clear film. It has been brought to my attention that some areas on vehicles are showing some vinyl degradation. The vinyl almost looks penetrated by a chemical or something. The effected areas seem to be in the locations where road salt would accumulate in the winter - in the lower areas and around the wheel wells. Since one of the vehicles effected is my wife's I don't think there is a chemical unknown to us at work here. Has anyone heard of road salt effecting the finish on vinyl?

Coat it with Pelucid. No more degredation from salt, rock hits, dirt.....nuthin'.
