Was checking out an autographics site and saw a cool new vinyl. They were using it to cover up such things as orange marker lights on custom cars. They used tranparent red vinyl and this changed the lights to red and really cleaned up the look of these cars. Anyone heard of this and know where to get it ?

Gerber caries a line of vinyl that is basically a tinted clear, there are 7 colors to the series (3M Scotchlite Series 1170). This has to be what they used.
You could also get some enamel receptive clear and spray it with a tinted clear urethane, skies the limit this way.

They have an obvious wavey texture to them that really looks like crap if you are trying to color tint glass or acrylic, doesnt have the clarity you'd expect.
There are also colored window tints which are perfectly clear, just like the smoked/grey stuff but brightly colored. Llumar makes it.
The colored tint has been around for years and years. I remember seeing a vendor selling it at the first car show I ever showed a vehicle in, about 8 years ago.
