Hi guys(and dolls), I am really distressed that our crafts nameley signwriting and then pinstriping goes unnoticed in our part of the world. We really need to create more awareness, but how do we start when there is so little first class materials available.
I have spent the best part of the morning trying to find a vendor who stocks pinstriping brushes but have come up with a big zero.
What I would like to know is can a long haired lettering brush be modified as we seem to be able to get REKAB brushes.
Now if this is possible how would I do such a modification and what would the initial brush size have to be.
I hope that I haven't wasted your time with some seemingly silly questions.

Alan, do you ever travel to Europe? If so Herb Martinez has been doing a pinstriping workshop in Germany for several years. Next workshop 2002..
I know this is quite a distance for your part of the world but its closer then the U.S.A. and Herb is a first class teacher. Even if you can find brushes and I believe Scharf makes brushes in England, his class would be a Godsend for anyone wanting to learn. You can contact Herb through his website. http://www.herbmartinez.com
Scharf on the other hand has made first class quality brushes for many years and pinstriping in England has been going on for centuries so I'm sure signage suppliers in England would carry them.
Hope this helps........

Thank you gentlemen for your intersest in my pinstriping topic. It seems that one vendor who sells art supplies etc. may have a few brushes in stock. I will be going there on Wednesday to have a look. Apparently the liners have steel ferrules with short handles. From looking at references this seems to be what's needed.
Many thanks for your input. All the best.
