For those of you who missed the first post, I inquired about sore wrists and learned that it is a common problem. Many solutions were offered. More than one of you proposed trackballs, Dave Draper being the most emphatic about it.
A visit to Amazon.com trackball buyers reviews revealed that the most common reason for buying the trackball was sore wrists.
I purchased the Microsoft Explorer trackball, and hooked it up on the USB port so that the mouse and trackball run side by side. All the wrist soreness has gone away.
You use the right thumb for left and right click, and there is a knob for scrolling. There are two buttons on the right side that activate Forward and Back when surfing. All buttons are reprogrammable. The mouse is still right there for the jobs that the mouse does best.
The trackball is not a perfect substiture for the mouse, but if you are experiencing sore wrists, I would highly recommend you go to a mouse/trackball configuration as described above.
Thank you once again for all the good advice that led to a quick and easy solution to what could have been a serious ongoing problem. Vic G
