It appears that www.actionfx.com has received permission (according to an e-mail from them) to offer EyeCandy 3.0 for free. This is the previous version of EyeCandy 4000.

What about all those who paid for 3? Will they get a special discount on four above what others are getting. Only seems fair. Do software companies like Corel still offer full versions and upgrades? How many people have paid more for the full version and found out the upgrade is the same product and does not check for a previous version.

David...I always wondered what the deal was with Corel having two identical programs at two greatly different prices. Seems they have changed their ways with version 10....It checks for a previous version and if it doesn't find one it will only install if you insert the Installation CD of any previous version.

I'm just pushing this thing back to the top ... since it's one of the best links yet posted. Thanks!
As it happens, I was wondering what it would cost to get Eye Candy for my copy of Photoshop 6.0, since my verion of EC only supports PS 3 and 4. FREE is an excellent price.
Thanks again!

I got this version and found it fun to play with, but when I wanted to save and use my creations I was told that only three of the filters function without the "paid" version. This is just a commercial as for eye candy, not a working program for free.

When you install the free Eye Candy 3, it also adds a demo copy of Eye Candy 4, in which only three of the filters work. But all the Eye Candy 3 filters are intact, and won't time out.
It is indeed everything I got when I paid ~$200 for my copy of Eye Candy a couple years back.
Take another look in your Filters directory ... you should see separate EC 3 and 4 sub directories.
Rgds,
Jim

There is something funny going on here. I downloaded the file from the linked page that says it is version three with all functioning filters. When I install the program it installs as Eye Candy 4000 with only three operational filters and it needs Corel 8 or higher(which I don't have).

Mine downloaded just fine including the manual in pdf format but doesn't say squat about Corel. 8 or otherwise. Just Photoshop 3 or 4. If I can use this in Corel 9, that would be a good thing. Anything I can open in Corel always shows a Corel icon next to it. It only shows a windows icon which tells me I can't use it anyway. Was just hoping I could. But, oh well... Gary H.

I have used it to try and sell a job already. Is ver4 better by far or just one or two more bells and whistles? I am using eyecandy3 and trying your step by step so i'll maybe email you the result.

EyeCandy 4000 has 3 new filters. How valuable they are depends on your preferences. What I like about it is the interface. I just find it easier for me.
I would suggest downloading the demo of EC4000 and judge it for yourself.
I look forward to seeing some of your work. I hope you'll post some of it so we can all see it.

Well, I fingered it out at got it to work with Corel Photo Paint 7. I put the .8bf files in the plugin directory and that enabled them. I had pointed Corel to the plugin directory but that doesn't do it for some reason.
It still didn't work but I did the same to Signlab and that was looking promising but I got an error message that it only worked with 24 bit color. Corel didn't give such a message. Ah ha, being the genius that I am I converted the bitmaps to Signlabs "full color", it still didn't work though, it now says it cannot load a .dll file but the 24 bit color files work in Corel.

I still can't get it to work on my mac. I downloaded it straight to the mac twice now, and it won't work. When I extract it, it just blinks and does nothing. I think their mac file is corrupted or something.
