I just purchased a number of fonts from Chuck Davis at Letterhead Fonts, and I've run into trouble with two of them that won't convert in Omega. Font Converter gives me the message "can't write softfont". Chuck has been very patient with me on the phone, going through my system to track down the problem; he has emailed several copies of the fonts with code changes, and called Gerber, who's tech reps had no clue (why am I not surprised?) The two fonts list as TrueType, like the others, and all the other fonts worked in the system without any problem. Has anyone else run into this? Any suggestions?

Cam,

There are several things that can wrong with Gerbers "method". You have to make a folder off of the JOBS folder and call it whatever the name of your new font is. You should then copy all the files from your disc into that folder. Then.........you need to make sure the READ ONLY attribute is off. Go to Windows Explorer (the file manager)select all the files in the new folder, click on File, the Properties and uncheck the READ ONLY box and any other box that is checked. Then, proceed with Font Designer. If you still have trouble...let me know and I'm pretty sure I can help.

Can't help with your problem Cam, but you couldn't get any better fonts than the ones Chuck has. He puts out some quality stuff, and is very helpful with any problems. Hope you get it worked out.
