Do I need all 3 CorelDRAW 8 cd's to install on another computer or can I just use disc #1?? I'm trying to help out a friend & can't find disc #2 & #3. I seem to remeber that one of them had fonts & clip-art and the other had PhotoPaint.
I saw CorelDRAW 8 at softwareoutlet.com for 30 or 40 bucks. It could save you some driving, if you're not in too big a hurry to get it. I think they had 9 for around 80 bucks.
Rgds,
Jim

Jim, I appreciate the tip but the clock was running out so the mad dash to the airport turned out to be the best solution. The only problem I had was slowing down on the way back home (some people just seem to have no respect for speed limits)
Shane, I know what ya mean. I've got way more questions than answers myself.
Hi Gary, seems like i've been in such a rush lately that I halfway expect to see the sunrise in the west. I'm headed back to Phoenix for a little while but will be in the KC area before long. I'll give you a call when I get in the area & am looking forward to seeing you folks

My pleasure, but now I feel that I cost you money. TigerSoftware.com is selling OEM 9 (discs only) for Under $20. That's unbelievable. Add a CorelDRAW 9 for Dummies book, and you have a super design program for around 40 bucks.
To all 8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1 users, GET the 9 OEM. The scan-and-trace alone are worth the $20 (worth a couple hundred compared to others!)
Check it out.

Chris, if you've got one of them big'ol huge hard drives with gobs of room on it, go ahead and copy the 2 & 3 discs to folders on your desktop. It's a lot easier to grab clipart from folders right on the hard drive than to search from the CD. I just deleted disk 3 (the photos) after two years, to free up some hard drive space. It was a luxury to have them there, but in reality, I rarely hunt through the photo images ayway. The clipart disk (2) will stay though, I use it too much to find the CD and load it every time I want a clip. Hard drives are so cheap - we're completely spoiled compared to the old days. I even heard recently that drives over 100 gigabites are just around the corner. Can't wait!

If you use windows 2000/ or another variety of windows nt that uses the NTFS file system (NOT any win 9x/me) then the defrag will be quite quick. You should be using this OS anyway for your business stuff.

Jim, It was Tigerdirect but that was easy enough to figure out. I missed the under $20.00 sale. Must have been a one day thing. I still ordered it for 29.61 and I think its the manuals and everything. It weighs 18lbs according to them so the shipping is almost as much as the software but still worth it. Now if the light will just come on inside this hard head of mine, amazing things might happen. Thanks again Gary H.

Darn, I missed it. I just hit Tigerdirect and all I could find was Draw 10 at $400 something. Oh well, at that price, I can live with version 8 for a while. Maybe I'll go check ebay when I'm bored.

Chris King You have to call there 800 number. Although Corel 9 doesn't show up any longer in "search",they still have over 300 copies in stock. The guy I talked to said the 18lbs for shipping sounded to high and he took off $8.00 on the shipping costs. Total came to $49.65. I should have mentioned that in prev. post. sorry Gary H.
