I would stay clear of finding a 4B to cut your Edge prints. If your budget is tight (and who's isn't?), I would contact Hyatt's or Advantage Sign Supply to find a used one. I would get nothing less than a Gerber 15" GSX. A HS-15 would be even better.

IMHO

I run my 4B every day behind my Edge, Never even thought twice about a new one.

I know the newer gerber plotters are faster but my 4B owes me nothing. been paid for for quite a while.

Seeing as they aren't worth much for resale it will cut my edge prints till it dies.

Beats 8-10 thousand for a new one.

Just my opinion.

I got a 4B for sale in great condition complete with book, link card and 6 fonts I've never used.

What I want to know is what 'reasonable is'

And what kind of reasonable price had you paid for all your other tools?

I see that there may be a potential new home for my Gerber 4B. It has served me tirelessly but is now sitting idle. It is in fine working condition, loaded with fonts and has an extender. There is no link card.
But I think Hyatt would sell you one gladly.
I would sell the 4B for 1300.-which is in turn what I need to buy some software I want.
I am a bit uncomfortable to write on the open board about selling a piece of equipment, just write privately if you are interested in details.

Bruce, I have emailed many persons wanting a 4B but it always comes down to the fact where one wants it for practically nothing. Geez, do you think I should just give it all away......
