Someone told a neat trick a while back to keep the base of wood posts from being chewed up by weedwhackers...I remember I thought it was a great idea..why dint I thinka that? Now I cant remember what it was? Memory is fadin...help

Michael, it was Jerry Mathel about two weeks ago that posted wrapping the wood post with galvanized sheet metal below and above appx 6 inches so weedeaters don't attack the wood..... Did your Killerkart arrive as of yet?

Keep weedeaters out of the hands of glassy-eyed brain-dead morons! Whoever invented weedeaters should be ostracized from humanity or chased by an army of weedeater totin' psychopaths.
I hate 'em.
I've used aluminum flashing and it works pretty good. The galvanized is probably tougher though.

Buy a bag of mulch and cut the turf in a 12-18" circle(s) around the posts. Don't use rocks; the landscapers hate 'em!
