Can anyone tell me where I can purchase plastic lettering that are wood with plastic on top. Gemini does not carry these.
This is a replacement job due to vandualizim. Letters are about 10". Guess some kids had some fun they just tore the plastic right off the wood letter. Darn kids
If anyone could give me any info on this I would greatly appreciate it.
Thank You
Nancy

Never seen plastic faced wood letters! Might be made by another sign shop. Probably going to be easier to carefully trace the wood letters and cut new plastic faces, then glue them on. The really hard part has been done for you!

This is Vic the signguy talking, not Vic the merchant.

We routinely make letters plastic face on all kinds of things. In fact there was an article in one of the national sign magazines on this subject.

In any event, you probably have your hands on a custom of some kind. Just reverse engineer it and make another one. If it is a letter that repeats in the sign, just take a tracing of it and use that as your sabre saw pattern. If the letter does not repeat, then get a photo and put it in your computer and "fake it" by inventing something that matches and lines up. Sometimes there is enough shadowing on the wall to make a fake.

The big problem with old acrylic is, the new acrylic never matches, and the repair does not look good. If one letter has fallen, how many others are ready to fall? Any chance of selling an upgrade? Vic G
