8 ft x 16 ft ..36 in top height, glass top except for a 1 ft strip down the middle for walking on, if needed. 8 @ 4 ft media rollers, banner stock, magnetic stock, transfer tape etc....Vinyl sits on a 1/8 in thick plastic cap screwed to the bottom shelf which is also 8 X 16 with room for more vinyl caps, plus an extra shelf for sign media, real estate blanks etc....And if you look under a place to hang stock banners so they have no creases. I love it my old table was the pits now I have everything I need and it sure makes jobs easier. I'm so happy just thought I would share this with you.There's also 1 bay an another bay door you can't see and another 10 foot at the left end of the table that runs across the shop you can't see And Roger if you look on the right end of the table you'll see some of your RAPID TAC 2 AND I HAVE THE REMOVER,THE PREP..ROGER I LOVE THAT STUFF I DO I DO I DO.

Hey David, Another great thing I only spent around $200.00 on the lumber got it all at Lowes.I really made it strong also it would hold a large group of healthy men on top of it.I knew I didn't want to make another so I made it to last a lifetime.

Nice work table! Only thing I would add would be to install some 48" fluorescent ballasts underneath at least on one section, to have light table facilities.

Where did you get the glass for the table? I have 2 4x8 ft tables end to end which i constructed myself. I am still looking for either some polypropelyne (sp?) sheeting or somthing translucent for the first half of the table. I plan on doing as Don suggested and putting a ballast underneath for a light table. Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated

Ryan, I got the glass from a local glass shop.I purchased it several years ago,I think it was about $80.00 a sheet for the 1/4 inch you need at least 1/4 inch or it will break very easy and get the edges buffed so they will not cut you at every touch............... DONMy shop manager has been suggesting the same idea you have,I do have a smaller light table 2 x 4 but he wants a larger one.I think I'll ask him if he will trade his yearly wage increase for adding on to the new table just kidding but it does sound good to me.

Alan, I work in a $4 million per year shop, only a graphic designer there, so not bragging...just that we do a lot of multi layered vinyl graphics. We use a light table to pre assemble layers of graphics before installing (actually, we don't install much of anything, most is sent to the customers ready to stick on).
If anybody wants a step by step on doing this, I'd be happy to warm up the keyboard and give it a go.

Thank you all for the kind & friendly remarks on the new table, I actually planned this table about six months in my head & on paper before I screwed the first screw. I didn't want to have to cry over things I wish I had done. I placed it on the Letterheads BB because it pleased me but I knew the final act of accepting it as a good product would come from all you Heads. I know this group of signmakers can be truthful until it hurts but it was a chance I was willing to take. Thank you all again you've made me feel fantastic & feel a part of the community. PS: My main objective was to have everything I needed tools,media,substrate etc.. either on or under this table.Kind of a central station everything justa step away.I try to make everything as easy or simple as possible.

and i was feelin real proud of myself for finally building the 24" x 96", removable and the legs come off, table in the mobile sign shop. but i made it at 40" high...the reason it is removable and the legs come off is i have a roll out awning on the side of the step van...and i can take out 4 screws and the table can go out under the awning...i also topped it with white bathroom tile board....

Joey, Thats funny you should say wheels,orginally I had planned to have wheels so it could be moved but with some thinking,I knew it was going to be a massive size table & it would have taken a lot more braces than it has know to keep it from flexing and breaking the glass so I ditched that idea.
just kidding but it does sound good to me.
