WE made our own. We saw Permlight's LED"s at Atlantic City and then again at Ohio. My husband came home and proceeded in making our own routed acrylic demo sign with 3 LED"s that we had left over.

I think a read a while back where you can use a small fluorescent fixture in a black base and slot the acrylic through the dark base and fit tightly. I'm sure it will need air by baffle to cool, but it should work fine. The light will travel up the acrylic, I am told. I have NOT tried it, though you could test it pretty easily, I would think, Bronzeo

I bought a light panel 22" x 29" & it had a tiny & I mean TINY fluorescent bulb. I couldnt have been more than 3mm. Can't seem to find them though.

You don't need a flourescent lamp anymore. Simply use "Rope Lite" around the unpolished edges. works much better and can be setup with a 12v system.
