Does anybody know how we get our letterhead discount from mr clipart? I was hoping to be the big winner last night for the cars n trucks cd, but somebody drew the wrong name instead of mine 8) way to go RT! Ive gone to their site from the merchants page, and put one in my basket, but it doesnt show the discount. I need this really fast and my email to them has yet to be answered. I have a few vehicles in the wings, so hope somebody knows what I'm doing wrong with this order. I'll probably lose the chevy astrovan if I cant get it drawn up by tomorrow, but no biggie I guess. Its the fleet of buses that I cant stand to give up. Barb - help please!

See if you can take a photo of the van or bus and scan it into your art program and create your graphics and signs right over top of that. A polaroid, digital or regular camera will do with 1 hour photo developing everywhere. I know something like that impresses the customer so much more if it's actually a photo of their vehicle. Especially if it's optioned out with unique colours and trim not to mention all sorts of custom aftermarket parafanalia. I still have customers layouts hanging in their offices long after I have done the actual vehicle. And besides every new vehicle year the CD becomes less useful if not obsolete.

Thanks for the idea Marty, gonna hafta try that. Guessin I oughta get me a camera one of these days. Lookin like a digital would be the way to go. Although I could just get a disposable I guess, but by the time you add up the camera cost and developing and the prints, I'll have spent the same as the cd, and blown much valuable time, plus the buses are working (on the road, dont stop long for measuring up) so the templates would be better for them. I think I 'll try the KAAS auto library for the astrovan, I have a pw and login from a newspaper buddy. Its a site chock full of vehicles and their logos for the print/paper industry. If I tread lightly, maybe they wont even know I snuck in there.....hehehe thanks again for the suggestion.

Sorry about the no Letterville discount thing. We price our products as competitively as possible, so everyone gets fair value. Hence, there isn't room in our pricing model for further discounting.
This is especially true of our MR Clipart products, including Car'nTruck Collection 2001. At just $69 for over 5200 up-to-date, accurately scaled, vectorized templates, Car'nTruck is not only the largest car and truck outline collection you can own, it's also hundreds less than its nearest competitor. At it's backed by toll-free support, for as long as you own the product.
Letterville is an amazing site, and I have the utmost respect for the Letterville mission and its residents. Unfortunately, by offering a unique discount here, we would in effect be over-charging everyone else. We prefer instead to extend a high degree of value to all our customers; Lettervillians and otherwise.
Hopefully, a review of our product features, pricing and after-sale support, will bear this out.
Best Regards,
Jim

We (Summa Site) do not have a mechanism for selling templates individually. However, I believe MR Clipart's site does. The URL is http://www.mr-clipart.com .

Sorry; $69 US. I know that's about 50% higher for you ... which is why I spend so many weekends in Vancouver.
Our website should reflect the new $69 price. At least I thought we'd updated it when the 2001 version came out. With so many added vehicles, and 5 views now included with every template, Car'nTruck 2001 is now a 2 CD set (1 with trucks; 1 with cars). That forced a $10 price jump from last year's C'nT, which was a single CD collection.
Best Regards,
Jim

Still a great buy. Outlines have saved me a lot of time and energy not to mention about 5 quick sales. I used to stand around saying "It should like this and that." Now I show em.

I have to take this opportunity to tell you about my very poor experience with the mr-clipart software. I am not trying to flame anyone and could have posted over a year ago when I first had the problem but decided against stirring up trouble. I was not happy with the quality of the outlines for some of the vehicles. But that I can deal with as I did not pay near the price that other people charge for similar disc. I purchased the disc of chisel fonts from Dirk Moebes personally at the Orlando sign show last February or March.(later I found that the disc were CD-R's) At least one font had problems that only became evident after I had spent hours doing layout to find that the font was some how corupt or would only work sometimes. I wrote to mr clip-art via his e-mail. To make a long story somewhat short I had trouble getting a reply from them. I got this e-mail from them totally unrelated to the e-mails I had sent to them but at least they did discover that there was a problem with the disc. Dear Sirs,
with this short e-mail we want to inform you that we will e-mail you today an all-new set of CHISEL-FONTS you purchased during the ISA show in Orlando, FL at the end of April. We had to make some changes, modifications and additions to the fonts.
For covering the download of approx. 1 MB huge EXE-file we have added a brand-new bonus font for FREE.
After never getting the e-mail that they promised with the info, I did finally recieve this e-mail.(by the way I never understood why they could e-mail me this letter but could not seem to e-mail me the actual fix)
We are really sorry that you did not get a message yet. We tried to send you the fonts via e-mail at both adresses you gave us, but we could not get it through. So last week we sent you a CD by airmail which should arrive at your place at latest at the end of this week. We tried to inform you about all that, but unfortunately it seems as it did not work either.
Please excuse the inconvinience again.
Best regards
Stephanie Greulich
The only problem is that the disc that they sent me still had some other problems. I just gave up as I could not get a reply to furthur e-mails.
By the way I got plenty of e-mails from other people over the same period of time and no one else had problems sending me an e-mail.
I am only writing this as an example of my personal experience and not trying to say anything more than that. Please do not think I am taking a stab at this product as I think they are a sponsor of this site and I am thankful to all the sponsors of this great site.

Well, I did get some response to my email from them now. But I guess its a language thing, cuz their response was in german! Thankfully I took german in highschool so at least I could read it. Seems they are going to send me one (the astrovan) as a sample, but I have yet to receive it. My email to them didnt mention the van, so I'm guessing they are at least reading this website. I am not looking for a freebee here, I do wish to purchase the whole set. The price is cheap I suppose even without the discount offered to letterheads, but hey, with the canadian/us dollar difference, it'll be nice.
And thanks to Victor for pointing out that there are some trucks on Jack's designer cafe cd. I didnt even think to look there, and there it was! Its a good start and should get me through a simple drawing for todays schedule.
If I dont get anywhere with getting this disk from the source, I'll ring you up Jim and order a copy.
I do wish I could afford the digital auto library, now that one looks to be top notch stuff, but with such a small market here, $649 is a bit much at this point.
Thanks to everyone for their help and time giving me a hand with this. The letterhead spirit is Alive!!!

Wow; we've sold hundreds (probably well over 1000 by now) copies of MR Clipart products, and the problems you've described are new to me. I'll do some more looking into it.
With the exception of shows where Dirk (the M in MR ... and a really good guy) sells from the booth, all MR products sold in the Americas go through us. We have toll-free support, and as good a grasp of English as US public schooling affords us. While we don't, as a rule, support products we don't sell, if you cannot get satisfaction from the folks in Germany, call me and I'll take care of it from here (800.527.7778 x 106).
Also, the quality (lack of) of the outlines is also not an objection I've heard until now. Please tell me which vehicles are off, and I'll let Dirk know. Dirk is very responsive to our customers' and our needs. So I have no doubt they'll fix any and all errors.
I should also mention that looking to a competing product may not solve your problem. MR and the "$649" (Canadian?) guy used to work together, until parting ways 2 or 3 years ago. I suspect that many of the templates in their respective products bear a striking similarity to one another ... especially on the models that existed prior to the break up of the relationship.
Please let me know where the problems are, and if you require replacement discs. I'd be happy to help out.
Best Regards,
Jim Summa (master disributor of MR Clipart in the Ammericas).

Thanks Jim Doggett for your offer to help out. I did get an e-mail from someone at mr clip-art today offering to resend the files or even send me another disc at no charge. This is a kind offer. I will have to go thru my disc to find out exactly what the font problem is as it has been quite some time since this all occured and I will point out the problem specifically to them to confirm that it has been corrected before I take them up on the offer.
Just wanted to inform everyone that they are trying to help me with this.
