OK here's the deal. I use calon HP (but this will work for any brand.) I copied the color chart from calon's website.(just a big gif picture) I imported it into corel. I adjusted my monitor to closely match the colors on the chart. So far so good. Now here's the tricky part. As I 'build' each color to add to the palette, is there any way to either: 1.move the color preview bar that appears in the upper left hand corner of the uniform fill manager tool to the very left edge of the box, so that the colors are next to each other on the screen. or 2. somehow make the color I am trying to match actually appear above the uniform fill box while i match it. I know this is actually going to be a programing thing and could be complicated but...................My ol' eyeballs just can't match them colors with another color stuck in between em'. If you want to see a picture of what i'm talking about go to http://www.casscomm.com/~utter/screenshot.jpg

Dave, Have you tried to use the eye dropper tool.....(third tool up from the bottom) to select the colors??? I imported the calon color chart as a gif and was able to color match right on the screen. This is a great idea especially since I use Calon II also. I also use this tool to transfer color from photos and match paint and vinyl colors all the time.....that way you can show the customer exactly what the final will look like.

Thanks! and can I hear a big DUH! it wasn't quite that simple, I'm still using 7, but, I was able to load the color chip into the mixing palette and use the eyedropper there. the new palette is done and working great. Thanks again!
