Well, here it is. Finally. An example of my artwork
Serendipity: tale of a dragon... Yep It's two metres high, by three metres wide. And I'm pretty happy with it
So, I thought that I had better show it to you guys, so that you can tell me what you think... Yes, I know it's main faults But I like it anyway. So, the pics are at:
(I would have posted the pics directly onto here, but it wouldn't work...) PS... the painting actually DOES look better in rl... ------------------ From Katie Wright, 16 year old professional signie wannabe from Aus.

Now Katie!!!! I'm impressed girl!!!! Tell us more about what we are looking at...it's a mural, where is it? What's the story behind it? How did you got about creating this and what kind of paints and brushes (or rollers) did you use? How long did it take you? Is the doorway to the stairs real or just an illusion, I can't tell! It's really really good!!!! I hope you charged them a LOT!! A

Hey! Thanks for all the great comments! But, sad as it may be, I'm still a wannabe... Not there quite yet! As for going to a letterheads meet over in america... I wish I could.. It would be absolutely great to go.. Unfortunately, though, I don't have the money to go... And I have to finishe shchool here first... but this is my last year! yay! Hoping to go to the walldogs meet in the blue mountains this year though, in Aus Should be fun if I can get there
Anyway, back to the painting... It's done onto canvas, which is stretched across the frame (which I made to size). And it's currently in the foyer of the school office. But, it will be back home soon, I hope... coz I'm missing it horribly at home! It's done with acrylic paints, and the brushes used were the standard ole artists cheapie brushes... And I used some foam brushes to cover the large areas of colour, such as the walls of the room...
As for the story behind the pic... The name, Serendipity, says it all... I wanted to do a picture, which would make someone stop, and look, and look back again. Serendipity means "unexpected but desired surprise." And it is also the name of a dragon in a story book I read as a child... Serendipity, the dragon... Who lived in a castle and liked to eat cookies. And the name can be taken either way. It can even be taken as "tail of a dragon", meaning just that, the tale of the dragon, as the focus, if you didn't know about the story behind it
It had allot of deep underlying meanings, that I won't go into detail about... Just a bit of stuff about magic, and the elements and such, that I just put in, coz I like them
And, just for interest's sake, you can't see it in the pics on there, but I also put in a few hidden details... such as the four mice, and the twelve zodiac signs, hidden in the painting, that have made people stand there, and try to find them all, if I've told them that they're there It's fun watching them try and find the forth mouse *heheh*

Katie ... it's great. You showed me the real photos at Hervey Bay and I was very impressed especially with the stones and staircase. The pics you posted don't do it justice especially to the little details.
May I make one constructive comment tho ... if you added shadows on the walls to the tree, butterflys, cat etc it would become even more 3D and go from being very good to excellent

Yes, I know it needs a little more depth... and there were shadows, I just didn't make them stand out enough, as a thought in retrospect. Though, I would have thought that would be LazyEdna's Comment! Hopefully she will read this too, and give me a few tips on how I could have made it better too... Thanks for all the comments so far!!!
