Usually someone wanting a dragon will have ,ore specs. There is so much symbolism there. They changed over the centuries and reflected political and social perspectives. One thing I found interesting was that the fire breathing dragons seemed to appear around the same time as the invention of what we know as gunpowder.
Tattoo shops often have alot of dragon art.

Signs of the Times publishes a book called Modern Ornament and Design, by Halsted, which has some nice Chinese dragons, along with tons of other useful stuff (scrolls, panel ends, foliage, etc.

I find Children's Books to be an unending source of fabulous artwork. I have one that is specifically about dragons... not the kind you were after, but wonderful stuff. I'll bet I have about 30 childrens books that I bought specifically for the illustrations. LE

OK, anyone have any good pics of a european style dragon??? I can find chinese dragons aplenty, but I need a good looking european dragon!!! Flying preferably heh... I can't find a decent pic of a flying dragon anywhere!

check out.. darn it i lost it....its a site with whaylen's art on it...and he did alot of the book covers for the "dragonriders of pern" series....go to search and type whaylen..not sure if iam spellin it rite..

Old Paint; that's spelled Michael Whelan but pronounced the way you spelled it. http://www.michaelwhelan.com/ He is pretty dern good. I got to meet him at a really badly run science fiction convention. He was the guest of honor and they gave him almost nothing to do so I kind of monopolized his time. I hope I didn't completely bore him.
