I have been looking at clipart cd choices. I am considering buying Mike Jacksons Main Street collection, because i can see images from his website. I am interested in Butler Gold and SignDNA vol 1, but cant really see what they offer. Any suggestions on what to buy? I am looking for classy shapes, scrolls and dingbats. Not cartoonish art. Thanks for any suggestions.

I recently purchased the Jack Wills Express Sign Art, it was on special at GBC a few weeks ago $49 bucks. I've only used it two or three times so far, but it has easily paid for itself. Some really nice stuff on the CD.

Ask "Crazy Jack" Wills about his Designer Cafe CD. I, personally, love it! Not only does it have scroll work, but truck images, sign blanks, clip art images, some fonts, design examples . . . just a great CD with a wealth of stuff to use. He's probably got a newer one out by now. I figure you can't go wrong with stuff made by someone in the trade. Sorry, I don't have his e-mail address - but you can look that up in the Find a Letterhead section. He's in Rocklin, CA. and his shops name is Studio Design. Bomba-Dear

I certainly like Dave Butler's CD, but in real time use Jackson's quite a bit. If you live in a community with historic districts, it's worth it's weight in 18K leaf.

just some thoughts collected while pondering the whereabouts of al smith...
i got a clip art collection from a fellow letterhead that he wasn't using anymore because he bought a bigger and badder one. it is art explosion. it has a comprehensive collection of a wide myriad of images. granted a whole slew of them are jpeg photos that really aren't whole a hill of beans, but the metafiles are fairly good. the tif files convert to vector art readily.
the new versions have like onw million images or some other ridiculous number. well worth the 49.99 the want at compusa.
jjust my thoughts. hope it helps. have a great one!

Why not join www.arttoday.com for $29 per year? They've got clipart online ready to download. Just type in a subject and thousands of images come up. A couple of clicks and you're good to go....
