Duckie, When I had decided to go to Evansville for my first meet, I was a little fearful that I would have to be a watcher. The meet wasn't what I expected. I expected that letterheads were going to be doing their things and I would just be another watcher. I was very surprised (especially when I found out your overdry, lifeless ponytail was fake)to hear my name called by strangers as I walked up to the hose house Friday night. Sometimes I would watch and ask questions and other times got involved right up to my elbows. The meet was more than what I expected. I can't wait until the next.

I "lurked" for a year or so before I posted many sides of the Moon ago. I did not have the guts to post a question let alone an answer!!! Now they can't shut me up! LOL
Posting here not only broke me out of the shell I was in (and/or the clinical depression the Dr.s had tagged me with) but it got me motivated to go my first meet. My gawd that was the closest thing to an artistic orgasim I have EVER had. (Can I say that here? ) The high I left with after that first meet (that the Lettervillians here basically talked me into to going to) was incredible... and NO I did NOT hang out at the spray booth too long! Ron may still have my write up on his website of my virgin flight to meet the gang at PSS. I wrote it stone cold sober but I was flying as high as kite with the adrenaline rush.
Posting here may not free your soul and lift you to a graphic bliss, but going to a meet will! I'd like to meet ya all too! (My pic will be here soon so you can pick me out of a crowd~ I'm not a hippy chick, but rather small, blonde, and quite until the sun sets... thus the Moon- it's my time zone= pm.)
For the traveling Letterheads- If you're stopping in at a California meet... our lights may be out but swinging a brush by the twilight of a Coleman lantern is good for EVERYone.
The supposed to be doing something else right now side of the Moon... but posting here!
...if you're gonna be addicted to something what a better place to be addicted to!
Oh! ...and if you post and don't get responses to it- don't freak. Sometimes it's a timing thing, sometimes it's a wording thing (ask a question in your post) or sometimes it's a mood thing- we are all artists ya know!

I am pretty much a professional lurker here on the BullBoard. It is because I am very slow at typing. PKing knows that when I get to a meet where I can communicate with my mouth and ears instead of my hands and eyes, I don't hold back a bit.

You have to be careful if you area late sleeper and you are at a meet where Don is he may try to get you up early to go to breakfast with him. I fooled him because I met him in the parking lot on the way to breakfast. haha

Well what a good spirt this topic has - thanks Pat. I haven't been to a meet yet but thanks to people like you I'm looking forward to getting to one eventually. Meantime I'll stick with the online meet that never ends.

Don, we don't care if you're a slow typer or not. We'll wait for ya to finish before we read it anyway! (Hell, Dave Grundy was still typing a Christmas message to us all last time I spoke with him a day or two ago. )

Me? A lurker? Now and then, yes. And as for at meets, yes I am a lurker. Coz I can't even pull a brush decently... yet! But I'm getting more involved with meets I even did a bit of lettering at the last one. And the glue-chipping at Harvey bay was great... See, I'm getting there. And, I'm going to a meet this weekend! yay! Gail and Devo will be there, so I'll say hi, OK?

As you just posted one of the ten most wanted!(DON's) picture..
I hate lurking and am glad to be someone of the conversations.. (I know most times I am wrong and the odd time I am right!!) But it is still great to converse with others.
