I got a couple e-mails today asking how I used Corel to create some of the digital files I've shown recently, such as the Pete's Auto Body job.

Hey Glenn, are you using Corel PhotoPaints masks and emboss filters for those cool effects, or are they vectored? Personally, I already know how to do 'em both and vector is waaaaay harder. Either way, you're a hell-of-a-man to make the offer. It would be interesting to see if you use the same steps I would to get the results. When can you come over?

I think it was Sign Business this month that had a good step by step with Adobe Photoshop. I was really hoping the same with Photopaint. I have designed mostly with Draw and edited in Photopaint, but really need to know how to work with layers and masks in Photopaint. So,bottom line, now you have to show us Glenn.

Definately!! I have access to an Edge and would love to be able to make more dimensional looking designs to print out! Thanks!

Ive got a step-by-step in this May's SignCraft on using Fireworks to produce accurate renderings. It's sorta similar, showing how to add the bevels, etc with Fireworks.

Its with either version. I just upgraded myself to 4, but the step by step was done in 3. The basic difference is some advanced web tools, but for effects, they are basically the same.
